Falcon Oil & Gas surged 85 per cent to 9.35p this week after sharing the results of the production log test at the Amungee NW-1H well in Australia.

The results suggest a normalised gas flow rate equivalent of between 5.2-5.8m standard cubic feet per day per 1,000 metres of horizontal section.

‘A recent report by an industry analyst suggests that gas flows greater than 3m standard cubic feet per day from a 1,000-metre horizontal well are required to demonstrate the commerciality of the Beetaloo,’ said chief executive Philip O'Quigley.

Falcon has announced a fivefold increase in the normalised gas flow rate from the Velkerri B Shale at the Amungee NW-1H well, providing a firm line of sight to the commercialisation of the Beetaloo. Production log data from the Amungee NW-1H well has confirmed that 85-95% of production has come from just a 200m horizontal section, equating to a normalised flow rate of 5.2-5.8MMScf/d over a 1,000m section. These test results significantly exceed the expected commercial threshold of 2.0MMscf/d over a 1,000m section and puts the Beetaloo on a par with other shale gas basins in North America. We set our price target in-line with our valuation of the Beetaloo plus corporate costs at 37p, c7.5x the current share price and reiterate our BUY recommendation.

Amungee NW-1H - Normalised Gas Flow Rate Equivalent to 5 MMscf/d per 1,000m Horizontal

3 September 2021 - Falcon Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSXV: FO, AIM: FOG) is pleased to provide results of the production log test at the Amungee NW-1H well ("Amungee"). The results suggest a normalised gas flow rate equivalent of between 5.2-5.8 MMscf/d per 1,000m of horizontal section.

Amungee is located in the Beetaloo Sub-basin, Northern Territory, Australia and the testing conducted is part of the 2021 work programme which is operated by Falcon's joint venture partner, Origin Energy B2 Pty Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Origin Energy Limited ("Origin").

Amungee Background

-- Located in Exploration Permit 98, approximately 60 kilometres east of
Daly Waters, just south of the Carpentaria Highway.

-- It was the first horizontal well to be drilled and first well to be
fracked with Falcon's JV partner and operator, Origin.

-- In November 2015, the JV successfully drilled the well to a total
measured depth of 3,808m, including a 1,100m horizontal section.

-- In September 2016, 11 hydraulic stimulation stages were completed along
the horizontal section in the Middle Velkerri B shale zone.

-- In December 2016, a 57-day extended production test ("EPT") was completed,
with production averaging 1.10 MMscf/d.

-- In February 2017, the Results of Evaluation of the Discovery and
Preliminary Estimate of Petroleum in Place were published for the
Velkerri B Shale Gas Pool, confirming a gross contingent resource of 6.6
TCF, 1.46 TCF net to Falcon, full details are contained in Falcon's AIF.
Details of Amungee Testing

-- The well was successfully put back on production testing on 7 August
2021.

-- Initial flow rates during the first 48 hours of testing ranged between 2
- 4 MMscf/d with rates averaging 1.23 MMscf/d over the first 23 days.

-- A PLT was run on 19 August 2021 to 3,098mMD, just prior to the casing
deformation at 3,112mMD.

-- The PLT data confirms that:

-- Only 5-15% of the production came from stages 1-7 beyond the
casing deformation point at 3,112 mMD.

-- 85-95 % of the production came from stages 8-11 spanning a 200m
horizontal section, prior to the casing deformation.

-- The low contribution from stages 1-7 is likely the result of a
restriction caused by the casing deformation or the plugs having not
milled out, or both.

-- Conclusion: stages 8-11 may

-- The Company has appointed legal counsel to recover the CEO loan to Lekan Akinyanmi and will provide further information as this process moves forward. The Company will utilize a Conditional Fee Agreement to minimise the upfront costs to the Company and provide an incentive to quickly recover the amounts due. The Company has claimed circa US$800,000 as being immediately due and payable, with circa US$400,000 being due and payable on 9 September 2021 and circa US$385,000 being due and payable on or before 9 December 2021. The repayments due in September 2021 and December 2021 are consistent with the repayment terms announced on 18 December 2020. As a result of trying to recover the CEO loan the Company expects to be served with a number of claims by Lekan Akinyanmi including unfair dismissal. The Company intends to defend any claims and the legal advice received so far doesn't see any grounds for any claims to be successful.

Phase II ArtemiC(TM) Clinical Trial

During the year MGC Pharma released further results from its Phase II clinical and preclinical studies on ArtemiC(TM) which support ArtemiC(TM) being effective for addressing cytokine over production in all tested Covid patients. The Preclinical Trial was performed in the SIA preclinical Lab (Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) certified) in Israel. The ARDC model is the recommended preclinical animal model for cytokine storm, for the prediction of the human model of Covid-19 patients. The trial delivered strong results across a full safety profile with no drug-related adverse effects and is an immensely positive result for the treatment of Covid-19 globally.

MGC Pharma’s phase III clinical trial has been designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of CimetrA as a treatment for hospitalised patients diagnosed with COVID-19 and to provide additional data for claims on the product as an Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP).

This trial will enrol a total of 252 patients and will be conducted over a 28-day period.

Israeli Ministry of Health approval has now been received and the trial will shortly be initiated at the two clinical sites, Rambam Health Care Campus and Nazareth Hospital EMMS in Israel, following the receipt of ethics committee approval in March 2021

The first patient is expected to be enrolled during June 2021, following the completion of CimetrA IMP Production and validation (from supplement production).

Expanding trial globally
The company intends to expand this trial to strategic global jurisdictions and has submitted an application for eight additional clinical sites in Brazil.

MGC Pharma is working with the Brazilian regulatory agency, ANVISA, in order to obtain the final approvals required to progress with the study with the first patient expected to be enrolled in July 2021.

Interim results of the trial are expected to be released in August 2021 and the trial is expected to complete with final results due in Q4 2021.

MGC Pharma (MXC) has penned its first dedicated agreement in the US for the supply of pharmaceutical products to AMC Holdings (AMC).

Based in Europe, MXC is a bio-pharmaceutical developer and producer specialising in phytocannabinoid-derived medicines.

Under an initial three-year deal, the company will supply its products, including CannEpil, CogniCann and CimetrA, to bio-pharmaceutical distributor AMC — in orders worth a minimum of US$24 million (A$33.1 million).

To this end, AMC is required to place its first year's order within five days of being granted a national clinical trial number (NCTN).

The minimum spend on this order must total US$750,000 (A$1.03 million) and be paid in advance, followed by an irrevocable US$2.25 million (A$3.11 million) letter of credit.

As part of the agreement, AMC will assume responsibility for co-ordinating the clinical trial process in the US, including the recruitment of patients, on terms agreed by MGC Pharma.

Further, AMC will undertake all marketing activities for the products in the jurisdiction and manage importing and warehousing.

In a statement this morning, MXC said the deal was an important step forward in expediting US clinical trials for CannEpil and CogniCann.

Accordingly, granting of the NCTN by the end of September will enable hospitals across the country to participate in ongoing trials, approved by the Global Ethics Committee.

High hopes for cannabis firm MGC Pharma

The prospect of MGC Pharma taking the first steps towards selling its cannabinoid-infused medicines in the United States gave its shares a healthy boost yesterday.

MGC, which this year became the first cannabis company to list in London, has signed a lucrative deal with AMC, under which the American group will buy at least $24 million of MGC’s medicines over the next three years — a big deal for a company worth less than £50 million. It will be AMC’s responsibility to get the regulatory and import approvals in place.

The plan is that AMC will buy drugs worth $3 million in the first year, before taking $6 million and $15 million tranches in years two and three, respectively.

The deal covers three medicines: CannEpil, already used to treat epilepsy in Ireland; CogniCann, which is in mid-stage studies as a treatment for dementia; and CimetrA, which uses chemicals found in turmeric and is being tested as a treatment for Covid-19 patients.

MGC shares puffed up 1p, or 50 per cent, to 3p, netting a healthy return for those investors who bought in at 1½p before its market debut in February.

MGC Pharmaceuticals Ltd has been the top riser in the whole of the London Stock Exchange on Thursday, after investors got excited about a US$24mln deal with AMC Holdings.

The tie-up with the American drug distributor will see MGC supplying the phytomedicine products CannEpil, CogniCann and CimetrA for use in clinical trials.

Roby Zomer, MGC co-founder and managing director, said that the deal provides a pipeline for strong revenue streams over the next three years.

The Australian group is harnessing the power of plants to address unmet medical needs, known in science as phytomedicine. The total addressable market for all of its programmes is worth a whopping £60bn, according to analysts at Proactive.

CannEpil and CogniCann are being studied for treatment-resistant epilepsy, dementia and Alzheimer's and are both at mid-stage clinical trials.

They are MP Line cannabinoids, so they are derived from cannabis. The family includes tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which is an intoxicating compound but which also has valuable medical properties, and also cannabidiol (CBD) which is non-intoxicating.

The main market for cannabinoids is Australia, as they are prescribed for several indications including nausea caused by chemotherapy, cancer pain, palliative care and anorexia associated with chronic illness among others.

MGC is also supplying patients in Brazil and work is being done to enter the UK, where the medicinal cannabis market is expected to boom in the short term.

CimetrA, instead, is based on food supplement ArtemiC, which contains four natural active ingredients: Artemisinin, Curcumin, Boswellia serrata. ArtemiC is already being sold in Australia.

CimetrA is its ‘pharma version’ and is at the final stage of trials, targeting the cytokine storm – a common symptom in severe COVID-19 – and other autoimmune indications.

The group is very active in the phytomedicine space and has research collaborations with academic institutions such as RMIT University, Epilepsy Action Australia, Lenis and the Medicinal Cannabis Council.

Shares climbed 67% to 3.47p on Thursday afternoon.
