Hmmm top slicing always a difficult decision imo but easy enough to work out

Once you have sold a tranche the remaining number of shares are simply a multiple of your original share price purchase and you can then work out the new average cost of the remaining shares against 'banked' profit

If the share price doubles for example and you take out half your total holding then the remaining half is costing net zero.

Hi Wasred , Believe it or not my brother in law and I built two adjacent houses on the main street in Creetown back in the seventies, no's 30 and 32.

The whiskey stores were known then as Solway Precast Concrete and were the main employers in the village

The original Whickerman film (1973) was filmed in the Wigtownshire area and includes scenes shot in the bar of the Ellangowan Hotel down at the village square. Britt Ekland didn't enamour herself with the locals describing them as ''uncouth and uneducated'' !

Next time you are there take a run over to Burrowhead Holiday park where some traces of the famous closing burning scenes are still visible on the headland and you will be standing on the closed point to the Isle Of Man in the UK just 22 miles away!
