Welsh .. in my opinion it would strengthen their hold on GGP and all the other assets we have .. don't think that NCM have not done an in depth review of GGP and what it owns, that would be poor management , I don't think Sandeep Biswas is a poor manger !

Either way if it turns out like Spy is thinking .. a bidding war, we will all benefit .. if it doesn't and GGP continues to exist. We all benefit .. I can see no downside in this company !

I don't think that even if they have a jv it stops then buying GGP shares. It's not as if it's just Havieron shares they are buying but you may be right ., but they have a bit of history in buying percentages of companies they are in JV's with

Interesting thought spy .. but I still think it could be NCM that is accumulating shares in GGP .. if they get 10% it sort of strengthens their hold on all the regions, and could stop anyone else coming in unless they buy out both companies .. that is one huge deal !

Quitefrankly .. as I said yesterday why would they do new JV's, then give GGP a $50m loan if they intend to buy them out. .. doesn't make sense !

No worries, but having a jv does not give NCM the security, that GGP won't do a jv with another company on the other sites ( though I don't think that will happen), but if Newcrest bought 10% of GGP shares (which they have done with other companies) it gives them some security and a say I suppose in who gets the rest ! I may be wrong it's just my way of thinking !

Max, I think that might have been possible before the last JV's but now I don't think it will happen, why would they lend GGP $50m and then buy them out, I am more inclined to think they might buy up to 10% of GGP just to secure the whole area !

In South Africa they mine over 12.000 ft so lots of scope
