RE: Putin to Zelensky - ready to meet4 Sep 2025 10:56
Alex1978uk,
So what about China's declining population, as if every western country is facing this problem too or using immigration to patch up their delining population (UK, Canada, Australia and USA). Declining population countries like South Korea, Italy, Japan, China, Estonia, Greece, Portugal e.t.c.... If China's population shrinks by 15m each year up to 2050, then the maths say China's population is still above 1 billion people and probably still healthy too given automation and AI will help gap any labour issues. As for the property crash in China, no different to property crashes in the past in the West. Boom and slump all part of the captialist economy. Xi's viewpoint on the recent property slump is houses are for living and not as an investment. Up to Xi if he wants to take back Taiwan which is already part of China, even the Taiwanese believe in this too - ROC\PRC - hint C meaning China. A bit like UK taking back Island of Diego Garcia from the Yanks or from the Chagossians.
All people of power have extracted wealth from their countries assets. No different to countries in the north, east, south and west. How many times I've seen poverty in the west too when countries should look inwards and help their own country\people. Take a look at central London, tent cities, food-banks, pot-holes on roads, human poo on pavements; and riddled with crime and closed shops. As for Russia supplying China, it's just international trade and business. No different to Germany piggy-backing on cheap oil\gas from Russia in the 1960's to 2022 to fund their industries and growth. No different that UK allowed to fish for cod since 1956 on Russian seas to help make the British national dish affordable until 2024. OMG fish and chips in London is over £15 a meal.
I believe there's little of a bridge for anti Europe and USA to do business with Russia and China. Russia has pivoted towards the east and BRICs and the West are left with holding the brown bag of decline. As for the west reluctance to move away from it's imperialist 'divide and conquer' strategy and IOUs which are no longer worth anything in international trade; then it sure does look grim for it's people in the west whom are taxed to death and restricted on their civil/ personal freedoms. As for Putin dying, death becomes everyone and I'm sure he's left Russia a lot better place in his own mind than in the Yeltsin years where Russia was carved up by the elites (like what has happened to indpendent Ukraine since 1991) and where (Putin) was doing two jobs as a lawyer and taxi driver.
What does it matter if Russia and China sinks or swim and takes the path not align to the west. Freedom to choose their own destiny. Let it be! As for all countries and people, denying the truth only results in guarantee failure as one fails to learn from one's mistakes! ("Never tell a person to stop if he's making a mistake" - Napoleon Bonaparte) This quote works both ways and only time will tell the tr
