well, last year and the year before they were forecasting 80p so don't get your hopes up :(
"To the extent that quality opportunities are illusive and the company has excess cash it will be returned to shareholders" what, we get a dividend???? that'll be the day.
Up 10% today - still down huge % on my initial investment, but a move in the right direction. Well done to the topper-uppers at <19p!! - I didn't have the capital or the balls to risk a sell and re-buy.....
I think you might be on to something there sir!
Oscar Pistorius was let off?
20p BUT we've had a massive rights issue, so that's not 20p compared to 40+p earlier in the year. its not 'way down' in overall terms. Interestingly, BBC share charts have re-balanced to old price too on their graphs, doesn't show the drop from 40p!!
yeah - your original shares. look, im new too, but I went out and got advice and was told what the rules were by my broker. I did some google research too. come on guys, its not rocket science. the deal was : you can buy 2 shares for every one you own, at 14p. so you got DOUBLE the number of shares as rights - which themselves were tradeable. Now, because there were SO MANY rights, the share price came crashing down. It seems that is the way it goes and doing the research shows this is a fact with rights issues. you COULD have sold your rights at between 6p and 10p but they become null at the point the new shares were issued, so you cant do that now.
I didn't have any spare cash to buy the offered rights, so I sold some of my AQP shares at 24p to be able to buy more at 14p. I doubled my holding that way. I also sold any remaining rights I couldn't use, so I've even got £48 extra to spend on beer!!! :)
you will only have your originals then. did you sell your rights? they were trading at 10p last I saw. clearly they are null now though.
Did you actually TAKE the offer? and pay 14 per share?
JPL down 1.4% at close AQP up 6.25%
I'd be happy with 50p!!!
going on this morning? after a 15% rise since Thursday, its not a surprise. there were some big sales yesterday (some big buys too but not as many). interesting to watch.
when our new shares will show up in our trading portfolios?
SADLY.... I didn't have the capital to take all the rights :( After all is done, i'll have 100k shares, not 150k - but that's all I could manage and that involved selling the excess rights that I wouldn't be able to fulfil, in order to at least be able to take some up. At the end of the day, I'm not too worried. what REALLY annoyed me was my choice of share. It was a toss up between AQP and OCADO - but I didn't think Ocado would be able to compete with the likes of Tesco.... they were at 50p then. 2 weeks later they did the deal with morrisons or waitrose - cant remember which, and shares shot up to 620p!!! OK they are at 300 now, but even so, my bad!
hindsight is great! I bought 50k shares at 40 ish, it went up to 75p - I nearly sold, but I didn't need the cash at the time, and AQP was bought as a long term investment anyway... but.... just wishing I'd listened to that little voice that said 'sell'... :(
I note the rights are trading at 6.7p, plus the cost of 14p = 20.6p. current price is 20-21p. I didn't have any spare cash to invest, so I sold a load of AQP shares and some rights to ensure I could fulfill the most rights I could at the least cost. So I've almost doubled my holding for not much cost, which is much better than doing nothing and letting those rights evaporate. So, I learnt that f you cant afford more shares at 14p, SELL 60% of YOUR RIGHTS to buy the remaining 40% (roughly speaking)
And it also says in nil point = non transferable rights I think? so if I don't take up my right (anyone got 15k they can lend me?) I cant sell the right either. GLUM :(
yeah - I just did find an explanation. So, it seems, a rights issue basically f**ks you over if you have no extra cash to invest. great. what a poor choice I made in AQP.
Hi Guys - just looked at this after a long time of inactivity, and found my shares are worth 21p each - can I ask some Newbie questions? 1) With a rights issue, do I have to BUY extras or do I get 'free' shares based on my existing number of shares. 2) Has my AQP portfolio really just lost 40% of its value???? 3) what do I have to actually do????? :(
