I'm rather bemused at the suggestion that assays are late. Wouldn't you normally expect up to 8 weeks for assay results? and sometimes longer than that if there are backlogs? This is my experience of nearly all juniors over the years (with a few exceptions). I would imagine that Perth is one of the busiest labs around. That's the first point. Secondly, it's important to look at when Perth actually received the cores and would have started their process.
On 21 Aug, the RNS told us: "The drill core is currently being transported from site to Perth to be cut and assayed." So by 21 Aug, the core was in the process of being transported. After this update, we don't know exactly when the core was actually all received by the lab, whether all in one delivery, or over a period of time. But let's assume it was all transported by 28 Aug!
Now, there is nothing to say that once received by Perth, cutting and assaying the core was a priority for the lab. This week's RNS told us that the core has been cut and samples prepared, with results expected in the "coming weeks". Let's assume "coming weeks" means up to three weeks, meaning we will get the results by 16 Oct.
By my calculation, 28 Aug to 16 Oct means a LAB TURNAROUND of 7 weeks. This would actually be a reasonably quick turnaround, or about par for the course, would it not?
