I wasn't making any comparison between the companies, nor conflating them in any way. I was simply pointing that Noble are likely to reach TD before He1. That's a factual observation and nothing more. Also, if Noble do make a discovery, it's hard to argue that such an outcome would have absolutely no relevance at all to any of the other companies operating in the Rukwa basin - I don't know, not a geologist. But I am not sure you can entirely de-link the companies, which is not the same as saying they will stand or fall together on these drills and conflating their outcomes in that way. All imo and dyor

Furthermore, Noble's success or failure, positive and negative news, will be read across to He1 by some. That's just the way it is.

Wyn/Crusty - Noble has been discussed here pretty much all year, and it's recent gas show RNS was commented on by many of the regular posters. The fact that both companies are drilling at the same time in the same basin for the same resource obviously makes Noble worthy of comment on this bb. It's ridiculous and non sensical to suggest or expect otherwise, and it doesn't mean there's any agenda behind it. Most posters on here are LTH of He1 and have commented about Noble, and will no doubt continue to do so. Odd comments from both of you there imo.

I only check this BB on RNS day now, and it's always the same. A handful of posters arguing with one poster. Why do you keep bothering and giving him/her oxygen? Is it the only way of creating some activity on this BB, because ECR isn't up to much right now?

Given the temporary issue with the Rig, I would have thought that the next items of newsflow will now come from Noble.

The worst possible outcome would be to a) fail to get a discovery at Tai, and then follow this by b) not have enough time to drill Itumbula until next year. Are these still possibilities or not on this RNS?

They have also ended up having to report earlier Helium shows now, rather than wait until TD, which was the previously stated plan. What I don't understand is that if they have reported them now in order to manage the share price/sentiment, then why did they not report them when they encountered them?

Yes, but is it that they likely don't know themselves (like Noble) what the concentrations are, or are not sharing them?

As for Noble's explanation of not being able to establish it, how do we square that with the following from Tai 1, where it was possible to establish it:

"Micro-Gas Chromatograph showing He concentrations up to 22,084ppm (2.2%) He in gas recovered from drilling mud."

Shame they are not telling us the He concentrations this time round. Just how elevated are they, for example?

Why didn't they give us the Helium concentrations (especially as the claim to be "encouraged"), or wireline like Noble?

They seem to be making it up as they go along, and reacting to Noble. For example, they decided not to report Helium shows, but have now been forced to report them, through a combination of Noble's announcement, miscalculation of TD and Rig malfunctioning again. What exactly does "encouraged" mean, hardly the language of excitement?

Anyone got any insights on the following:

1) The reason why no concentrations have been given for the Helium shows? Is it for the same reason as Noble have stated in their announcement?

2) Noble's decision to wireline on their way down (even though not their primary target) v He1's decision to wireline at the end. What sort of factors underpin these decisions?

They surely have to announce shows - IF they have encountered them (and ideally the %). Otherwise the market will infer 'no shows' and that will result in a s h i t show for the share price. All imo

It does seem to be getting worse on AIM - maybe desperate market conditions have made such practices more common place. And to think the push is for less regulation on LSE, to make it more competitive!
