I think we have to prepare ourselves for continuing delay. Doesn't look like this deal is going through in June based on that update imho. They haven't even finished negotiating with MMA (I thought they had) and once they have, the paperwork needs to be finalised and they need regulatory approvals. I would say July now at the earliest?

The issue then becomes one of how much of the drilling prep can they do NOW and without having the deal signed first? Permitting is one example, but you would think that they can't really negotiate drilling contracts and timetables either, because they need to reclaim Anza first. How easy or difficult is it to get drilling in that part of Columbia? Does it need months of planning, or can it be done in a much shorter timescale?

Given that he has clearly overcooked this by months (not weeks), it would be great if BG to get another interview from BG and hear specifically about drilling (and funding situation as well), to give us all a bit more re-assurance. All imo and GLA

KR - the second well sounded positive enough. Not sure when they will do the flow rate testing for it. But to be honest, it's all a side show for the main drill coming up at Anchois. So if the price does drop on any negative news before then (unlikely), then that's a good buying opportunity.

But HEX is probably the better play of the two tbh.

Yes, so many drills coming up. From the O&G, I've gone for HEX and Char. I think PRD is a good candidate, but they always hit you with a raise around these points. And not to forget good ole HE1. They will likely get the raise and EWT done in Q3 as well. Definitely one to buy after the placing as it has a huge following, but slightly worried about how many shares in issue it will be left with.

LTH - does Columbia have a drilling season and if so what? Basically want to know if OMI are up against any drilling clock here after the recent Argentina RNS mentioned coming back for the next drilling season?

What newsflow is MATD expecting in the coming weeks to support its share price?

Yes it doesn’t sound like this is weeks away but probably going to take much longer. We are not interested in the team being on the ground to resume control, we want to know about drilling. Last time round he mentioned permitting etc? Why not tell us how they are getting on with drill preps or has even that progress been delayed?

Swissy - to be honest, I wouldn't actually mind HEX dropping to 16p, as it would give me an opportunity to load some more into it.

If we are only looking at a swing trade or two, then the 12 months cash runway is irrelevant. The main consideration is do we think it has a chance of spiking from these levels in the coming months? That's the trade. I'm going to dig into the company a bit more over the weekend.

Avoid companies before placings, and target them immediately afterwards is probably the way to go with most AIM stocks.

Let's see whether and what BG says about it next week, if anything. It is possible that he might have wanted to separate out the Argentina and Columbia updates. Or maybe that's wishful thinking on my part.

I am a bit annoyed to read about "complex commercial transaction", because I am sure he gave the very opposite impression when he said they were expecting to do the deal in April, and he didn't expect any difficulties with the due diligence because the majors are proper companies or words to that effect.

Maybe its the conditions of the deal that are causing the complexity now?
