Sorry if this sounds a bit out there but could this all be a big scam to push the price down and then buy the most of the shares cheap. I don't know exactly how this works but could friends and family of CEO be buying up the company and then it will somehow emerge from the ashes and they own most of it for nothing?
Probably just traders getting out at the end of the week after making a nice 30% swing trade!!!
Exactly what happened last year when Spiderman was released so pure manipulation!! Avatar will be massive and this will shoot up in the next few weeks.
thanks for the reply, I thought as much, people pulling there money after getting the dividend.
do you have to own shares by the end of today to get the dividend or did you have to be in yesterday?
We went Sunday night to see the same movie and it was pretty busy too which did surprise me for a Sunday night. Going again tonight to see The Lost King so will see how busy that is but every time I have been recently for what would be low to mid budget movies it has been atleast half full. Cinema is not dead and once the big blockbusters are back it will be rammed. With all the **** going on in the world the cinema is one of the few places you can escape for a few hours!
The price has steadied at around 5.5p for the meantime and they couldn't get people to sell so they come up with this bull**** to tank the share price again and get muppets to sell cheap, can't believe people keep falling for this! I guess there could come a time when this is true but right not just stinks! I hope the person who tweeted this loses there job if it all turns out to be lies!
Watching Top Gun Maverick on the big screen in imax or even just a normal large screen is so much better than even the best home cinema set-up. Half of the experience is the sound and scale, I personally went to see Top Gun 3 times at the cinema just because is was such a good experience. Watching it on sky box office doesn't come close in my opinion. Real movie lovers go to the cinema to see movies, they don't wait 4 months to watch them at home!
Just wanted to say I went to see the Fall last night and what a great movie, very tense movie, I had sweaty hands all the way through, well worth a watch, especially on the big screen! Cinema is not dead!
Any idea why the recent drop?
At this point I would rather ride it in to the ground than sell as I think most people of this page are talking **** and just out to make a quick buck by trying to get shareholder to sell up. I would rather wait and see what happens. I have already written it off in my head so any upside from here is a bonus. I still think this is all a big game to get Cineplex to take a settlement out of court. No one knows what's going on really, it's all just speculation at this point.
why would any new investors want to buy shares in a failing business, doesn't make sense.
No way cinema is dead, just not much on that people want to see right now. I have been an unlimited member for about 6 years and go to the cinema at least once a week and more in the winter but right now even I can't find anything i want to go and see. Once there are more movies that the masses want to see things will improve quickly. Why not re-release some older movies over the next few months that did well at £5 a ticket that people may have missed or would want to see again. Getting bums on seats is all they need to do, people will buy popcorn, drink etc
Unfortunately I don't think this will hold as this happened after Bond and then we lost all gains within a few days, just funds playing with us. I hope it does hold but not holding my breath. I went to see Top Gun and loved it and all screenings were full with people buying popcorn and drinks. The guy in front of me spent £20 on snacks which I couldn't believe but this shows people will come out for a good movie. Hopefully over time this will get back to £1, we need the cineplex case off our backs for this to hold.
This should also be some good news for IAG - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-58917231
Thanks for the info, useful to know and glad I had got pretty close to working this out, very frustrating that people can do this but I guess there is no real way to ever stop it until the company gets bigger and these guys have less of an effect.
