Just been having a look at the tables on drilling from the Newcrest report last week.

Looks to me as if Havieron's drill results are actually better than those of Red Chris and we know that Newcrest have been raving on about Red Chris .

13.29 MFU - some fair points but as to Havieron not getting star billing as you put it don't forget we only had the exceptional exploration report on 11 March, so in reality we should not have been expecting to be headline-grabbers last week. In fairness there was some new information
- about drilling: "The additional results received since Newcrest’s Interim Exploration Update on 11 March
2020, continue to demonstrate the continuity of the higher grade mineralisation within an arcuate sulphide zone and
has expanded the mineralisation footprint within this zone and the surrounding proximal breccia. Mineralisation has
now been defined over 400m in length, up to 150m wide and up to 600m below cover."

- about Newcrest raising money in which "decline funding" for Havieron was mentioned.
- 9 rigs operational
- 80,000 metres of drilling planned

All in all a good-excellent update for me

it's funny when there is technical talk by Newcrest and GGP of "ramping up" and " declines" - people could indeed take it the wrong way

" Granted GGP is in Australia which is safer politically and also they have Newcrest spending their money drilling. Which probably means the mine can be financed far more easily if it is viable. However - it is looking like a deep mining scenario and that will cost many millions more than our open pit model.
Also there is no guarantee that the a deep mine will be financially viable.
I am very tempted to take a big sell out on GGP tbh !

Probably because the board was cluttered up witha load of 10%ers hoping to do a quick in and out trade while pretending to be LTHs. A bit harsh I know but 1200 posts by the time I went to bed last night, most of it being drivel, but with some notable exceptions of course.

10.00 BTB - good to hear the expansive drilling plans isn't it? 80,000 metres is massive.

To put it context Newcrest commenced drilling during the June 2019 quarter and has increased drilling activity such that nine drill rigs are now operational. A further 17,231m of new drilling has been completed since December 2019. We are going to absolutely pepper the area now with 9 rigs on the go.
