Massive project, those ships, especially the early ones are carrying thousands of tonnes of construction materials, a massive amount of work which needs to be completed accurately.

We are lucky that this country has such a large and advanced mining industry, equipment and skills can all be found locally.

I was on another board years ago when a guy appeared, said he was thinking about investing asked loads of questions then told us when he was going to buy and what he was doing, sure enough the massive purchases began to roll in and he bought that much that he triggered the rules and was named in an RNS, it was a big market cap too.

Could be someone like that messing about with their holding picking up a few percent here and there but possibly not seeing it as a great risk to hold if all doesn't work out in their trades.

Others have put in small gold mining licences then started large production and vice versa.

The 2019 code retrospectively tried to correct this with additional taxes if production was not in keeping with the licence issued. So some mines moved over production by means of gold ore taken to a different mine and included in that mines figures.

The audit picked this up and the 2023 mining code was born.

All of the codes, subsequent audits and replacement codes have good solid reasoning behind them. Not just a change from nowhere.

The mining companies need to tow the line and not get too smart.

However what I do know about initially the 2019 code, the audit and subsequent 2023 code they are about issued licences being closer to production figures so revenue to the government and control of countrywide production moves under a little government control whereby before it had no correlation.

So I would imagine that increasing productivity from a mine may be complicated, possibly the new code is easier in that respect. Our move from just DMS to DMS and flotation.

The transfer of the mining licence is probably the major reason.

However no matter what Bernard said in the Q&A, I see the mining office's objective until into November minimum as finalising Ganfeng on or before the 30th of this month and finalising Barrick. I don't know if they have any other big cases.

Those two are worth over 360 million dollars so that in my opinion will be their priority and could involve most of the mining office staff.

We can keep working the transfer of the licence will not affect us, in theory if our first shipment is in January it could be completed in January - stressful for investors but not a priority for the mining office.

Every dept proritises work, it depends how far they are down the list not anything else.

Once the mine can produce they will want their 10% and we will be a priority.

Because of two previous CGT changes and therefore financial planning will have been enacted, their budget idea is a bit of a stick your finger in the air, guess and see what happens.

If it works they will say it was all calculated if it doesn't they will look silly. Best not take the chance.

Yes George goes for all politicians, it has to be University, teaching them tactics, to talk while someone else talks to distract them, how to talk an interview out using up the airtime to avoid answering a question, hand gestures, saying something which is not true a number of times so some of the public believe it to be true. To try and teach them to win in the political game - but not how to lead and manage nor to be any use once there. I would not be surprised if they also taught them how to cash in once out of the arena.

I did not know these tactics existed but it happened to me once when I was speaking and a university student explained the tactics which are taught - now I spot them all of the time on tv.

They all do the same create so much controversy rather than go about it the simple way and add a penny to tax.
