Reminder on this. We are now nearly 1 month later on and Retreat from Kharkiv and the Ukranains have recovered all the way to the Russian Border. Eastern campaign is at a stalemate and western firepower now arrived and arriving as well as hefty US support budgets.

These guys and gals have been absolute hero's for the cause and were willing to give up their lives to see through one order to hold the line. They need not apologise to anyone for a change in orders which now prioritises the saving of lives. They should all be given the highest military honours going.

Now though it changes the context of the war. Somebody has their saving face victory and land bridge to sit on and it paves the way for a resumption of talks and things like ceasefires.

I have to disagree with you.

The land bridge gives VP a face saving victory and way out of an annus horriblis campaign.
