Slow day with a dip. Always brings out the same crowd. Today we’ve been told by:
Wyn: “FWIW, given I buy and sell stocks frequently, I have a target and if and when it reaches that target I will sell”
and
Sang: “Since then [April] I have been in and out and have done fairly well with the trades, much more luck than judgement”
Clearly, no one has the right to tell anyone else how to invest, but with their posting histories and honest admission of trading this stock, they’ll perhaps forgive us for giving them short shrift. If this makes me a ‘ramper’ I’ll gladly take that accolade.
Back on topic, some interesting developments on the website today re Covid testing.
How’s that for research?! ;)
We always knew you did the Hokey Kokey, Wyn!

Before posting anything on a BB, one would do well to remember the majority of those here ARE invested and only want the share (and therefore, the company) to do well.
Sure, a lot of the chat is speculation. It’s human nature to be curious about an investment, as well as to seek assurance about the viability of the investment. At the same time, I doubt there’s a single investor who is not slightly irked about the delays to our tests. (Can’t believe this needs to be spelled out).
So don’t pretend to be offended when you lack the good grace to keep those inner doubts to yourself and instead decide to see how they play out on a chat room of, on the whole, well researched investors.
Anyone who has ever been a part of a large project (let alone one of this scale in a rapidly evolving global pandemic) will know that delays and hurdles along the way are inevitable. It’s the people who are able to adopt a positive approach to such inevitabilities that rise to the top, accepting that timelines are targets not promises. If you are unable to accept that, it’s your problem and I suggest you try maturing a little before volunteering any more skin to the game.
I don’t think so. Who knows how they managed to ge CE marked but the way we’re using them now (home self-testing) is not what they were designed to do. In the absence of a better test, it’s all the government can offer.
The best thing everyone can do is take the tests and upload their results onto the website, demonstrating adoption of the process at least. Which is why I’ll be doing exactly that rather than burning / binning them as some posters here have suggested!
My personal opinion now is that we will bypass professional-use tests. Things are evolving rapidly and the market has, over the last week, skewed rapidly in favour of home testing. It’s everything we are developing and all that our test will - hopefully - offer!
It may even explain the delay. Why would you look to roll out a sovereign test gradually when this Chinese cr@p is being delivered to the door? I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re now having to play catch-up to the Government’s rapidly changing requirements (again) and have to prove the test is fit for immediate self-administration.
The first box of 7 Innova tests arrived through my letterbox this morning. Like all holders here, I am keen to get on with it and adopt this twice weekly testing routine. More than anyone else, we are a group that are keen to adjust to this ‘new normal’ for obvious reasons!
With that in mind, a few observations on the Innova tests:
- The kit. Lots of constituent parts. The process is finicky but it was my first time.
- Sampling method still requires tonsils. If this is to be a daily routine it needs to be done before you take any food! Backwards swallowing my oats while swabbing the back of my throat properly was a challenge.
- Read time. 30 minutes is needed before the true result can be read. Doesn’t sound like much, but when you’re watching the clock, it seems like an age.
So what? The ‘so what’ is there is a very apparent market for an easier sampling method (AN) and a quicker test. Even as an eager adopter of this new routine, I really hope I don’t have to conduct it in this manner for too much longer. For the doubters or less eager (majority of the population I guess) this will be a serious effort / inconvenience. There will need to be a serious PR drive to keep people invested in this routine moving forward with reducing rates. Bottom line is people will be *very* receptive to an easier and quicker test!
Better still, a saliva sample will be the Holy Grail of sampling methods, hopefully paired with a 10-15 minute read time. I’m now looking to Avacta not only for SP gains but also for an improvement to my weekly routine. And as such, I’m anticipating an improvement to both!
All these ‘non exclusive’ agreements / deals. Getting the pharma market slowly introduced to our tech. If big pharma don’t find something better, or stump up massive sums, our IP could find itself invaluable to so many applications it’d be almost like supplying an addictive substance. And then you can really call the shots!
