Anglo American was the standout loser as it announced the closure of its Drayton coal mine in Australia next year after the New South Wales Planning and Assessment Commission recommended that the government block an expansion of the mine. Has someone got it in for coal mining?

Hi, I think the MMs and IIs have a long reach and fingers in every pie as they seem to always know something before the RNSs come out. Maybe it's just this time of the year when all news is bad news and they all do their best to get sp's down so they can buy them on the cheap - all imho of course!

Meggitt has won a multi-million dollar contract to provide the cargo smoke detection system (CSDS) for the Boeing 777X aircraft. The company did not give a specific value on the contract. Production will start in 2017 from Meggitt's facility in Simi Valley, California to meet entry into service in 2019.

Thanks Sonny. I have now found the cause in the trading update RNS issued the end of October. My former career experience is also in the electronics/aerospace industries in the UK, and notice they do have a knack of turning themselves around as one looks to the future. Not withstanding the fact that many other sp dropped on the VW news, one might imagine the MMs now have a bag-full of shares they want sell and don't want to buy anymore? PS, broker targets: is this just another MM ruse to prevent selling at an obvious sp top?

I bought in here two years ago when I saw the quality of the whole business and the stable management. The sp was 26p then and I've been adding ever since. Current market cap is simply too small for such a quality company.

with your comment BR. On reading the company website I get a good feeling. Its also a 'future industry'. The mkt cap is ridiculously low so I expect this to improve as their projects get going to fruition. Been here for 2 years now and will be staying.and topping up.

I actually come from Eckington, but currently live in Germany working in the technology area. For as long as I can remember going back many tens of years Servelec Eckington division has been in the town, so it cannot be that bad a company! best regards,
