It can’t be in anyone’s best interests to continue the stagnation of SRA737. Given that GSK/Sierra will shortly be out of the equation it is reasonable to expect Sareum and CPF/CRT to get moving and at pace to progress development. Both parties will have been using the period since Sierra notified that they were returning asset, to clarify options, whether onlicence, co-development with a third party or further in-house development. January 2023 likely to be pivotal for news in respect of SRA737 and commencement of SDC-1801 phase 1a trial.

One might expect to see some comms regarding the appointment of a ‘Head of Investor Relations’ whose job is primarily comms….itself an opportunity to raise Sareums profile.

RMM, good afternoon and thank you. Importantly, in terms of any agreements it is reasonable to suppose that CPF/CRT will play with a straight bat and be straightforward when negotiating with Sareum. CPF’s mission aligns closely with Sareum’s and there is a long standing and very productive working relationship. All bodes very well for the early progression of SRA737.

COL - valid comments perhaps however it needs to be seen in the context of the Sierra Oncology saga, the 12th October RNS, the imminent return of SRA737 to Sareum/CRT and the Dr Mitchell's observations in respect of future potential.

Hi C79, interesting stuff!
A quick search of the Chinese clinical trials registry indicates a significant number of TKI related trials in progress. Increasingly anxious that if Sareum don't get a deal/s signed off in the very near future we'll have missed the boat. Also pondering how Tim can continue to claim 'best-in-class potential' with the apparent rapid increase in the number of competitors?

Part of the issue here is the degree of pent up tension for the BoD and shareholders alike, resulting from the time it has taken for the MHRA to give their response to the CTA application. The RNS specifically confirms that Sareum commission well renowned, world class CROs so in the absence of evidence to the contrary we can assume that the submission is robust and watertight. Once the outstanding questions have been addressed, we can assume all Sareum’s hands will be on the pump, we will revert to the ‘exciting’ prospects highlighted in the final results RNS.
A learning point must once again however be for a step change in the quality of communications although this plea seems to always fall on deaf ears.

Good morning C79, how does Tim’s recent statement in respect of the ‘superior efficacy in autoimmune disease compared to oral therapies currently available and in development’ stack up against the inhibitors detailed in this paper. It’s hard to see how Tim can know the efficacy of other drugs in development or is this just a general comment on the domain targeted by 1801 being superior to the allosteric domain?

Potnak - as per the statement in the final results 'Provided satisfactory safety data is obtained from this initial study, and subject to ADDITIONAL FUNDING, a Phase 1b clinical study will commence in psoriasis patients in 2023'....in the absence of a partnership/licensing deal, dilution appears inevitable.
That said, given the BoD's view that SDC18-1 has 'significant potential for superior efficacy in autoimmune disease compared to oral therapies currently available and in development', combined with the expressions of excitement from otherwise hugely cautious, risk averse scientists, we must be getting very close to something transformational.

Worth once again repeating RMM's post of 21 August:
737 aside, because we have no control over this, I feel its time that SAR reviewed their business model and commercial approach. A few years back we had, as Tim put it, a good problem in that we couldn’t find a level at which 1801/2 were toxic. We also had the good problem of being able to target a range of indications but only needed to be successful in one to get a big payback. So now we have the CTA in play and an indication on the table. From my perspective its time to put the foot hard on the accelerator as it’s taken far too long to get to this position. A lot has been posted on the potential value, the science behind it and the hope that we have the attention of big potential partners (even acquirers) however, we desperately need a new commercial approach otherwise we’ll be left behind as others with bigger mouths steal our thunder. I really don’t see Tim taking us to a level where real value is achieved and I really hope that we’re going to see strategic change in the next month or two. Without someone at the helm to really push the pre-clinical licence model all we’re going to see/hear is the same rhetoric and I’m afraid that the potential licencees are probably as bored with it as we are. If it comes at a cost then so be it. The HNWI’s must be wondering what the hell they’ve bought into and to retain them (and even incentivise them to put in more) then the BoD needs to raise its game. As we approach the end of the holiday season the big boys will be back to play. Are we going to be on the playing field or just stood by the sidelines? The news flow is spasmodic at best and does little to engage new investors let alone partners. Over to you BoD to demonstrate that I'm wrong…..
