Is it possible that TSG itself is buying back shares from Destin but selling them straight back into the market at a profit? If so, is this process coming to an end if Destin are now down to 3%? Again, I ask these questions from a position of total ignorance!
If there is a buy-back in progress, how does this impact the share price? It might reduce company profits, but it doesn’t necessarily result in shares being fed into the market and depressing the SP. Does anyone else have an explanation for what is going on? It still looks like someone steadily selling off their holdings into the market to me.
Is the major seller in the background UFG or some other major shareholder? Does a major shareholder need funds and is therefore happy to sell around SP50? Would a major shareholder be better off for funds if a large special dividend was declared? Would TSG have enough development funds if a large special dividend was declared? I believe that all these factors are in play. I also believe the SP could jump back the moment the (assumed) major seller eased off or no longer needed liquid funds. Of course this all speculation on my part. The problem for private investors is that the actions of the major shareholders must inevitably have most influence over the share price.
“ If appropriate, the Group will continue to pay special dividends at an appropriate time in its reporting cycle. Over the last five years, the Company has paid out $11.2 million as special dividends.”
Looks like a special dividend is still possible, but the rest of the RNS is about using funds to extend exploration operations.
I think the special dividend will depend on whether UFG want it or not.
I suspect that any special dividend will depend upon whether it suits the major shareholder(s). The hovering of the share price at 57-60p suggests to me that a major shareholder is happy to keep selling on the market at this kind of price, with the occasional major share dump being reported one or two days after the event. Is it UFG or some similar organisation needing funds to pay investors making fund withdrawals? SP should quickly rise once the seller really departs.
200K Sell from yesterday just now reported and showing up incorrectly as a Buy.
I wonder whether the likes of shareholder UFG are liquefying some assets to facilitate withdrawal of funds by some fund investors? I have no real idea though. There were no massive sales from yesterday logged first thing this morning, but I suspect reporting could be delayed again. (Can some sales go unreported indefinitely ???)
Happening again today. There must be some big unreported/delayed sells in the background that will be exposed tomorrow morning. I just see a screen of blue.
Does this not extend the LoM? SP always seems to drop after an RNS regardless of the content.
I wonder whether Gavster was onto something...... price rises with intense buying..... share options get exercised once price is over £1 for a given period (can anyone find the report about exercise of options?)......... there's an upcoming resources report the preparation of which just coincides with the dumping of large quantities of shares with delayed reporting....... but what do I know? If you haven't sold you haven't lost ....... particularly for the handful of buyers still here who came in at 10p to 20p.
Seems to following same trade pattern as Highland Gold.... a peak in September, then fall, then both now into a climb back. Low energy costs for TSG, plus rising gold price, suggest the best is yet to come.
I'll answer my own question. After today's close yesterday's big share dumps are revealed. 320K shares. Anyone like to comment?
As a complete amateur with only access to the delayed trade info, am I right to conclude that when there appears to be an endless stream of buying, but the 'Ask' price starts to drift down, then someone is dumping shares in the background and the sales will only show up in a day or two with delayed reporting?
And today another near 500K shares sold a day ago, but with delayed reporting. Something needs investigating!
100K shares dumped two days on the run, with delayed reporting. Gavster mentioned in earlier post the directors share options granted some years ago. Have any options been exercised? Has something temporarily ramped then dropped the share price? The share price should be well above current levels.
We are now into a period when brokers like Hargreaves Lansdown will reinvest your dividends back into share purchase (if you have elected for automatic reinvestment). So I would expect some upward movement. The current extraordinary low price is actually ideal for dividend reinvestment.
Wow, a really positive announcement regarding onsite management immediately causes lots of selling (mostly smallish holdings) depressing the share price. Too many investors with no grasp of the fundamentals?
I might have mixed up dividend and interim dividend results in my last post. An increased dividend is being reported elsewhere.
I think there were several reactions here. Bid/Ask were hiked 5 at the open anticipating good RNS.
Over reaction and fall due to comment on needing to reassess life of mine beyond 2024 in case resources had been overestimated. Interim dividend to be lower despite increased profits.
Share price now drifting back up.
Life of mine should not be an issue if they have a plan to exploit Rodnikova asset.
