On a point of accuracy the last day the company were active was 8th May the shares closed at 18.85p on that day ..with the company having paid exactly that level for shares.

Not sure it correct to say the shares have not come off since the cessation of activity looking at where they stand.

Just when the no sellers and no liquidity narrative was in full swing ..there’s a bit of selling volume by the looks of it. I just wish the market kept to the script ffs.

Hopefully might spike the interest of the person managing the order at Cavendish to get busy!!

If they took a breather because the price had increased i might better understand them letting the price fade to make further purchases especially when they were operating at a high overall volume level..the fact they pulled it when the price was already falling is weird.

On a pi buying point of view having paid sub 17.5p for shares since the pause ..i have made lower purchases every time close to 80% of shares repurchased for near 60% of capital…an effective return of capital to share holders. In no hurry and not at all worried ..if there is news might buy some more ..if they fall further might buy some more. In fact would be delighted now if they did come out with something great i really would , but glass half empty me , i wont be in venting narratives to suit my position not my style.

There seems much talk on the buyback and the lack of volume ..not a factor throughout the pause to be honest..the company albeit at a low pace could easily have participated fulfilling their ongoing shareholder approved cash return. One also has to remember that volumes were inflated when they were operating as Cavendish worked the order book building the buyback then printed out the order on the close to Nanoco ..when you are 48% of the volume as they often were that boosts the volume reported by over 30%. I have no understanding of why they have stopped any buying ..as they have said the on market activity is under the control of Cavendish so it must be their decision ..which makes it odder as if they were given the authority to execute the order why are thy not getting on with it?? As i said with all the talk from some about imminent news by not buying share below 18p are they not missing an opportunity to enhance shareholder value by further reducing the shares in issue as was the whole idea i thought?? Might ask the company what is going on , but i find they are still not great at answering genuine and reasonable questions ( not price sensitive) without chasing or sometimes not at all. There is discretion around exercising a share buyback but when there is an arms length broker agreement in place you rather expect it to be executed on an ongoing basis especially when the shares have fallen significantly from levels they were keen to be paying on 4 weeks ago and they still have firepower. Maybe someone else might contact Liam to ask WTFIGO they might get an answer. I am awaiting straightforward question around what was bought and sold in the market around the exercising of options.

I see no guidance that gen 1 goes into mobile phones..they say gen 1 low volume applications..where’s the guidance gen 1 in mobile phones as you headline? Might be wishful thinking there , the fact it has not been used ( one has to think) in any consumer product yet does also not lead to any presumption that it goes quickly into mass market product. I may be wrong of course. The fact that the Asian customer and STM has moved straight to developing a gen 2 before any usage of gen 1 also indicates to me that they see the big market as being a further refined ( lead free) product is required for those mass markets. Be good if the company was better able to give some meaningful guidance on what and where their cash flow breakeven forecast actually comes from.

The other thing having got shareholder approval for an on market buyback as part of a minimum cash distribution promised and seeing it as value accretive to the company buying shares up to 23p+ why are they not continuing to meet their obligation of buying shares back at a lower level. It made sense to me to allow an adjustment post tender and not be so agressive but having been the main buyer higher up why not be fulfilling that obligation at levels that now better reflect the position post tender. If something positive does come out and the shares jump and they have been sitting on their hands down here is that in shareholder interests??

That should have no bearing on the buyback ..it is independent of the company as expressly notified. The company are not in a closed period..that is post reporting period, pre announcement. The year end is July. The company could be restricted because there is news in the background but it would not impact the buy back.

Also if there was something positive brewing from past experience there would be a firmer market..and a LOAM notification of purchase!! That was a joke. But they did buy a few weeks before the first commercial order ..their market timing is so good.

8 trading days now of not participating in a declining share price with average volumes..obviously intentional. But difficult to know why when they were the only real buyer propping them up far higher. The stock is trading 15% below the average paid for 6.3m shares and they said they had given instructions to Cavendish on an arms length basis..normally these things will operate every day on a set basis so they are not gaming the markets or their shareholders. What they are doing here makes little sense to me,

Have made another small print below 17.5p ..just over half the cash reinvested..will have to look for lower levels in the absence of buyers.

And that FAB is also meant to speed things up..but i think the development time to validation and the scale up times given recently presumably took this into account as the kit was already on its way?

They have investigated the other infringers they were going after and I think found 1 that might be worth pursuing ..I would not hold your breath on there being anything much on them chasing down infringers ..it was just a good thing to say in the wake of the settlement disappointment as far as I can see. It has been covered in some presentations but mostly kicked down the road as many things are..there was meant to be renewed interest in display licences but again that has gone pretty quiet. All hopes seem now on the sensor side, it was a nice idea that there would be other revenues from display incoming but it has gone cold. Never say never though hey.

Ask Brian ..he has indicated only small volume sales of gen 1. Maybe those small volume applications are not as sensitive around the cadmium /lead free guidelines but integrating a sensor in a mobile might require lead free components?? Might want to ask STM why they move straight to developing gen 2 materials having spent 2 years refining the gen 1s.

I certainly have the impression having listened to most that has been said that is the case.

The problem then is going back to that cash flow breakeven in CY2025 ..that would rely on a fair few small volume orders/applications of the gen 1 materials to hit that target ..Cavendish are only forecasting only a few Million of revenue on top of Samsung and development work to end FY2025. Thats not going to get us close…but I’m sure they won’t move the goalposts.

Its pretty clear gen 1 materials are not being considered for mobile phones see BT comments ..including FY24 and FY25 low applications ..and on mobiles “By 2026 or so we'll see [QD] technology go into a mobile phone.' Presumably when the gen 2 materials are validated in 18 months and then another 12m for scale up and integration it would seem.

So its doubtful before it gets into low volume devices it goes straight into a mobile phone any time soon…so one can imagine it going in a mobile phone in a few years at best on that guidance.
