Paddy,
I am in a similar position to you, and as I have said, I would be disappointed with a 10p offer. I was just trying to point out that we may well have little choice in the matter. I try not to get too carried away, because talk of 50p - £1 would be huge sums.
Sorry Tom, but I was sure you did. Earlier this month,
FB Hi,
Great post, and I for one would be very happy with 10p or slightly under, that would do me fine. I am getting on so do not need much but I would like to leave all to my family so they do not have to go through bad times as most of us already have.
Best of luck all at GGP
The future is ours !!
Tom :-)
There certainly is a lot of takeover talk today. Can anyone confirm what %age shareholder approval would be needed for a buyer to be given automatic purchase of the rest of the shares? I have a feeling it is probably 75%. If so, there are almost certainly many, many holders of 0.5-3.0% of the company who may see an offer of 10p per share a very good return on their 1-2p average. Similarly, there will be a few shareholders in excess of 3% within the nominee accounts who have not declared, who may well snatch the hand of a 10p offer. With so many good sounding people on this board, it may be prudent to somehow rein in your expectations. Hope I'm barking up the wrong tree, but?
There's every possibility that Compass is right. A friendly bid 100% up on the current SP is considered reasonable. This may not appeal to the 60p in six months brigade, but large holders of several million shares bought in at 1 or 2p may well see this as a good return.
No, a top up. Sold a load of builders' shares as they have pulled the dividend. In this one way over my normal limits. But my feelings for GGP's prospects get stronger all the time. Funny how a small AIM shar instills more confidence than the big boys at the moment.
