Well detailed Spotopp.... Yet i didnt quote i was fine with the influx before an eventual stop of people arriving here.
You love to blow negative things up as if to try and make your case stand up to your beliefs.
What i was saying was No one could have predicted the correct course of action when the pandemic arrived globally and No one got all things right.
I wonder where we would be today if you had been in charge !!
Every death is a sad loss regardless of numbers and we are all lucky to be here today. I am sure there are a lot of people who would have been reading this today who are no longer with us.
Get off your soapbox and be positive as there are worthier people who sadly would love to just be alive without having any opinion.
I am a strong believer in Karma and have plenty of opinions but thats all they are opinions and i dont ram my opinions down other peoples throats or try and get one up on someone... Enjoy Life while you have it !! :-)

Politics politics.... Who said What Why and When... Whoever was PM would have been dammed if they did and dammed if they didnt.
Just like Brexit we got half saying we should have done this.. and half saying we should have done that. Scientists got some things wrong and so did the Government. It was a Total Unknown Scenario.
Lets all just be grateful we are where we are at whatever the costs. :-)

Menzies Aviation wins major contract with Avianca

Menzies Aviation, the global aviation logistics specialist, today announces that it has been awarded a five-year cargo contract with Avianca at Miami International Airport (MIA). This contract represents one of the most significant wins in the history of Menzies’ cargo business.

WOW!! Thats so brilliant Spotopp for you to say that me being so optimistic was driving up the share price.... I will have to try that more often.

You may be right Spotopp but funny how you dont comment when the shares are rising (As you cry in your Cornflakes) Yet you come running in the moment they loose a few pence to bang your chest as if to tell everyone you were correct.
No one was giving guarantees that we will be back to normal soon, We were just saying the shares were going in the right direction and what they should be.
We are all entitled to make comments and predictions whether they be right or wrong but you dont need to be so Negative because its not what you think.
Still say you were gutted when you sold shares at £3.00 odd in March.
You wont be the first nor the last to Buy or Sell at the wrong time.
Just dont assume you are right and everyone else is wrong !! Take it on the chin... :-)

Well sbbtwenty20 we got to the £3.50 we both said would happen.
Just to think this time last year they were at just 89p. I bought a shed load then and now i wish i had bought 3 shed loads.
I still predict the correct price will be around the £5 mark by the end of the year as theres a lot more miles in Menzies as they are now in a far better place than they were going into Covid.

Another New Contract. 06/04/2021
Menzies Aviation, the global aviation logistics specialist, today announces that it has renewed and expanded its ground handling contract in Northern Europe with Dubai based carrier, Emirates.

Menzies Aviation has been awarded a five-year contract to provide Emirates with ground-handling services at Oslo Airport, Stockholm Arlanda Airport and now at Copenhagen Airport, a new base within this partnership. Across all three stations Menzies Aviation professionals will service daily Emirates flights.

Yeah sbbtwenty20 I think you have scared off spotup for once and for all , I dont think hes going to spotup anytime soon. Think swissport needs him more than we or Menzies do haha :-)

Thankfully its just an APRIL FOOL Hahaha :-)

Well well well... Scientists, Doctors, How lucky Menzies are to have such great talent fighting there corner. I feel so inadequate now being a mere early retiree with only 20.000 Menzies shares. I have bought in since i worked for Menzies for 19 years. Having bought & sold numerous times i was at times just happy for the divi as it was a lot more than the measly banks.
I started buying again in 2018 and have paid £5 £4 £3 and the last lot for 86p so i can now sell today and make a modest profit but i am hoping to sell at around £4 to make a nice little earner. Whether i will wait that long or sell half i am not so sure as i would idealy like a profit on the £5 ones.
Now that i am out of the ****e having paid £5 for sum you can imagine how i felt when they were sinking to as low as 66p. So i kept buying them up at that low price to try and mitigate my loss.
Thankfully i can now breath hence i am doing ok so i am keen to see further positivity and can panic a bit on reading negativity. So lets all get on and be happy we are where we are and it would be ohh so lovely to get the divi restored. :-)

Someone who has true facts & figures on things... Too many people spout on about things they know nothing or very little about.
We could all do with listening a lot more instead of jumping in with our own agendas. There is a lot of negativity in life today with folk getting hot tempered if they dont get their own way. You can see this daily in Road Rage. You can't look at some people today without them saying *Wat u lookin at m8 ?* Gerralife init !! :-)

Well i, like a lot of people listen to and acknowledge the important messages coming out of the science...The covid pandemic isnt going to end anytime soon and we will all have to live with it. But we have to move on either with or without it as there wont be a *back to normal* but we can have a new beginning just like after previous wars.
Stocks & Shares will still go up & down whatever crisis we find ourselves in and if people were more glass half full rather than half empty we could all get along together.
Every one has an opinion and be it right or wrong its just that...an opinion.
So spotopp We still value your input and be it right or wrong its just your opinion and we accept that. Lets just maybe agree to disagree on certain quotes and theres no one that has all the answers if we had we would all be millionaires.
Menzies is still a good bet company and i am not saying they get everything right as no one does but i feel there are a lot of other companies out there that are maybe not the good bet that menzies is.
I know i would sooner put my money on menzies than Harry & Meghan... its a case of you pay your price and you take your chance.... Gla

Think the closing price today shows optimism and shares go up & down for lots of sensible reasons. A bit of a spat by a guy slightly out of touch probably commenting on something he dont grasp or understand should in my opinion go back to the sites he usually comments on as his views on here are Negative... Dont work for swissport do you ? !!

It used to be Menzies Distribution and Aviation but they have now Sold Off the Distribution so maybe it used to be listed in the category you say.. :-)

Think its a combination of a number of small reasons. We have been waiting for take off since the start of the vaccine. Now with new contracts and cost cutting Menzies should be back to pre-covid levels of around £4.00 per share.
I was lucky to double my holdings when i bought in at 68p as i expected a takeover as i knew the price would go back to normal levels regardless who owns the company.
Feel a bit for those that sold out and made vast losses in the past 12 months, Just needed a strong nerve and a belief in the company with worldwide contracts.
Saying that they may dive again tomorrow... just the luck of investing in stocks and shares. Just my opinion mind !! GLA :-)

YES there is always a possibility but that goes for Any Company. I would'nt worry who ever holds the reins as Menzies is an excellent opportunity and the share price has been as low as 66p and a high in excess of £8.00 over the past 20 years.
A lot of companies have folded or been taken over in the past 12 months so they have weathered the storm not just in the UK but Globally.
Having gained a lot of new contracts in just the last few months shows the faith in the company. If anything they will come out of this year a far leaner and more prosperous company having got rid of a lot of dead wood.
I think the correct share price for the company will settle around £5-£6 when we get back to a New normal so i would say the share price today has a lot more scope to accelerate in the near future and the long term future for Menzies is slow and steady wins the race !!
A good example of faith in this company is directors holding on or buying shares, as if there was any doubt they would be the 1st to sell up and run to the hills. GLA :-)

Yes i agree as most are cutting back Menzies have the sense to pick up various worldwide contracts which in turn should prove very profitable going forward.
Its a very strong buy at the moment and a lot of investors will be scrutinising the details and can only see the share price going one way and that is flying high. GLA.
