I don't think it will hold 50p, it's one of those physiological levels which will trigger a lot of profit taking then a retrace to the low/mid 40s before gathering up her skirts and going again.

Sold at 17.5 this morning intending to buy back in at 16 following on from yesterday's slow drop. So called kit wrong but bought back in at 18 so every thing is fine.

God knows why it has just dropped - maybe because the RNS is edefinately we are going for it hence no bid and no SP rise?

I can see no reason why BHP should bid just because they will be able to. They might feel no one else can manage a take over so they will just sit there and go along for the ride with an appreciating asset and only move in if things go tits up.
