The Shia parties aligned with Iran want the UN gone. The UN is voting on a draft resolution today to close down the mission within two years. The draft resolution has following conditions which must be met before the UN exit:

“ It recommended, however, that the timeline be combined with an indicator-based approach to reassure all Iraqi stakeholders—notably minority groups and civil society actors—of “the sustainability of the current political system and their continued safe participation in it, with or without the Mission’s presence”. The proposed indicators include, among other things, the peaceful holding of parliamentary elections; the undertaking of a constitutional review; a sustainable UN human rights presence beyond UNAMI; an agreement between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on the equitable sharing of oil revenues; and continued progress in providing security in all areas of Iraq, including through the progressive transfer of security tasks from the military to the police.”

This may explain Iraq governments eagerness to resolve the oil issue. As reported earlier this week Iraqi army have pulled out of Kirkuk handing control back to the Kurds.

Hope this dudes predictions are better than the oil ministers prediction about the 3 days.

If the basnews article is to be believed then Kirkuk is being handed back to the Kurds after 7 years. The having armed fanatics must have been given something to allow this to happen.

This looks like some compromise taking place between the Shiites and Kurds.

I’ve noted the apikur tweet today and I take from that they want to join the party as well and maybe accept some sort of compromise.

These are just my personal opinions so as usual dyor.

No oil is flowing through the pipeline. IOCs getting paid local prices but yet don’t seem too irate as they were at start of the year. The IOCs mouthpiece APIKUR are staying very quiet.

According to the Iraqi government they have not received any oil revenue but seem more interested in getting the non oil revenue. All previous accusations about hindrance from KRG are longer being reported. IRG still continuing to pay the salaries even though the KRG are not living up to their side of the bargain.

The KRG also seem to be staying quiet.

There appears to be some sort of coordination going on between KRG and IRG. Remains to be seen if this cooperation is good news for the IOCs.

The Iraqi army has overseen security in Kirkuk since 2017, following a controversial independence referendum conducted by the Kurdistan Region. It is now being reported they are withdrawing at request from PM Sudani.

Walleye with 0.89% is the only disclosed position above 0.5%. There are a few more shorts but as their position is below 0.5% we don’t know whether they have closed, decreased or increased their position.

What is not disputed is that any open positions are now all haemorrhaging money.

At some point they have to close and we should then see a healthy rise.

What is truly bizarre is that he’s guaranteeing that employees salaries will continue to be paid. How can he guarantee this if Erbil are not handing over the oil and non oil revenue? This will be music to the ears of Barzani as he can carry on trucking and pocketing the money. I don’t believe Sudani is that stupid so something is afoot.

This could be Sudani and Barzani trying to force the IOCs to some sort of a compromise.

Good news, they’ve managed to finalise draft budget bill and send it to parliament without a brawl. 👏 👏 👏

Following a brawl during the voting session to elect a new speaker, the Iraqi Parliament has adjourned the session. Haibat Al-Halbusi was punched by Muthana Al-Samara’i in the Iraqi parliament after a failed attempt to elect a new speaker. Bleeding, Al-Halbusi was taken to the hospital.

As usual this is Iraq so nothing can be taken for granted all parties seem to be making the right noise. IMO President of Kurdistan trip to Iran I think may have been the deal maker as anti KRG noise in Iraq has reduced.

Imo the meetings between erbil and the oil minister which have been ongoing since Tuesday will be the real catalyst for the share price.

😂 theory man - my point is that the UN ambassador can’t have been talking about that agreement as it was 14 months ago and this article on rudaw has been written today and mentions that pipeline closed for 14 months.

So must be talking about a new agreement. Hopefully we will get some news soon either way
