Head of Executive Committee of Reforms Council of Ukraine and a former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, states that removing a pro-Russian government of Georgia will be beneficial for Ukraine, - reports InterFax-Ukraine.

"I think that getting rid of the pro-Russian government in Georgia is in the interest of Ukraine and Ukrainian people. However, this is my personal opinion. I'm not expressing the position of a President or anyone else, because I'm not a public official. This is my personal, firm position", - stated Saakashvili.

Saakashvili also emphasized that a Georgian will never stop being Georgian, even if s/he's a Ukrainian patriot with a Ukrainian passport.

GD want to be pro west imo, nato integration, closer ties with europe/ US, the alternative options are not good. Ivanvishvilli is looking out for himself and russia.

I think FRR still have the edge to win block 12 but its in the balance whether we reach a deal by the 27th.
As I said last week, zaza going in hard, GD will also play and act hard, but for them it will be a mistake, blunder and we are seeing the results of that now. GD can't terminate contract, zazas condition imho, this is law, otherwise whats to say they can't terminate it after a GD election win. They'll find something to beat FRR with.

I read in the earlier posts today that US doesn't want to harm the public through cutting aid, true, however, the suggestion of curtailing aid, will cause some public concern and is likley to win over votes for the opposition. Zaza is making a mistake by not mentioning enough about why GD is putting so much at risk when they claim there is no oil, the oligarchy know there is oil and they want to steal it from the public.

Its morally and ethically corrupt for a company to spend half billion and be asked to leave.

GD can gain som face if they come out positivley by the 27th, they could then demand/ make trade agreements and go into thd election positive. If they win election, they could still loose legal battle with FRR if they don't reach agreement with FRR. However, they will have lost US support, it will be too late then to pretend that ur on the US side. If FRR loose legally, GD will still loose long term. US will have lost confidence and Trust in GD, however US will have to keep GG on side by providing economic trade. They dont want GD to look at russia for support. But will fight for regime change.

Im not sure if theres been a vote on whether Georgians want closer ties with US or Russia would be interesting to know.

I also, think there are likley to be additional sanctions on individuals like ivanishvilli if no deal is reached by the 27th. The pressure is on him, to give up.

Zaza needs cash and needs to win Hope in court, they'll need this money to fight GD in court for wrongful termination of contract. Hope, won't have much to loose as i understand, any loss now is coveren by insurers.

I for one would like a deal by the 27th. Enough is enough, shareholders are tired for this to drag on.

It gives me some hope, tha FRR will come on top.

Then again Zaza could argue why we having negotiations you cant terminate contract, its illegal. Unless they put the other 99 percent back on the table, its a tough one. GD want to come out of this positive. If GD loose election ( a realpossibility), could be the other parties do a deal with FRR and take the credit for investment and a trunaround in the economy.

IMO negotiations are underway, no doubt very tough, hence Malin putting on the pressure with his letter.

Can't be good for GD talking about US investment/ FRR daily.

FRR have worked in good faith in Georgia, under incredible pressure, not getting support from GD, consequently sometimes zaza/ steve not very tranparrent to shareholders in fear that investors run away.
I get the point that china and russia firms are not under the same scrutiny,hence not happy that after 23yrs of work investment ( half billion spent) a US business is being asked to leave. Not good publicity for GD, they should have handled this much better and sooner.

Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, responded to a letter from an American congressman, Marquine Malin, calling it "out of context."
In the letter, the congressman wrote that the Georgian government was harassing American companies and that sanctions might be imposed on both the government and Bidzina Ivanishvili.

On Marquine Malin's statements, Natia Turnava says that "he is probably dictated by certain political or business sympathies and interests."

"When the entire international community congratulates us, our team, on constitutional changes, strict adherence to the March 8 agreement, and the democratic reforms we are implementing in relation to our electoral system, this particular statement by Congress is absolutely out of context and disproportionate." - Said the Minister of Economy.

Natia Turnava's remarks run counter to a statement by Sen. Jim Rish, chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, that he expects the March 8 agreement to be fully implemented.
In addition, the Minister of Economy once again called on the company Frontera to refer to the dialogue mentioned in the letter of Congressman Malin and said that he is confident that dialogue can solve all the problems.

I agree partly TSBS, i think GG know they'll end up loosing going through courts due to reasons given by JRjnr but also the bad msg it sends to Investors. . They'll get months of bad publcity run up to election and US will likley impose sanctions due to a combination of these issues and any trade/ investment deals will be pushed back. Not good if they want good pblicity going into this election.

Zaza no doubt will play tough in these negotioations, his hard stance no flexibility might force GG to go through courts. This will be a bad move for GD.
