The research looked at the long-term effects of Covid-19 on people admitted to hospital in Wuhan, China, and found that the most common symptom to persist is fatigue or muscle weakness, in 63% of patients.
Patients also frequently experience sleep difficulties (26%), and anxiety or depression was reported among 23% of patients, according to the study.
Researchers found patients who were severely ill in hospital more often had impaired lung function and abnormalities detected in chest imaging – which could indicate organ damage – six months after symptom onset.
The study, published in The Lancet, found that levels of neutralising antibodies fell by more than half (52.5%) after six months in 94 patients whose immune response was tested at the peak of the infection.
Researchers suggest this raises concerns about the possibility of being re-infected by the virus.

Sam Herbert, new Chief Operating Officer, said:
"I am excited about joining Clinigen at such an important time in its development as a company. It is clear that the challenge to enable access to increasingly complex medicines across the world has increased exponentially. I am looking forward to joining the team at Clinigen and using my experience to help the Group meet the needs of its pharma clients and HCP customers alike, in order to benefit patients."

With a fair wind blowing SNG could become a front and centre preventative treatment in this fight it's becoming increasingly difficult to see where this could end up. However what I do know is it wont be £1.53 if all the ducks line up
Looks like the US prefer something that has been proven to work and taken 15 years to develop, what a state the world is getting into. Still were OK here our government riding over scientific advice moving to single shot dosing even though the vaccine developers have both stated your outside the trial parameter end points
Up to 60% of US health workers are refusing to get COVID-19 vaccines
Thousands of health care and frontline workers across the US are refusing to get COVID-19 vaccines as the rollout of the shots in America continues to sputter.
Up to half of health care workers in on California county and a Texas hospital say they will not get the shot, 60 percent of nursing home staff in Ohio are turning down the jab and 40 percent of frontline workers in Los Angeles won't get it either, polls reveal.
Respondents to a number of surveys cite fears of dangerous side effects, health care worker forum posters say they feel they are being used as guinea pigs and experts blame misinformation.
Where to next I ask myself

California again shatters coronavirus records with deadliest month yet
California has again shattered its record for Covid deaths, with 432 fatalities reported on Wednesday as the state faces its deadliest month in the pandemic and a dire shortage of hospital resources.
The state also announced its first known case of the new coronavirus variant first detected in the UK. California’s governor, Gavin Newsom, said he had just learned of the finding in a Southern California case Wednesday.
He announced it during an online conversation with Dr Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious-disease expert. Fauci said: “I don’t think Californians should think that this is odd, it’s to be expected.” At least one other case has also been detected in Colorado.
California’s case rate is now far outpacing every other state in the US, and a catastrophic surge in Los Angeles county is forcing hospitals to turn away ambulances and make plans to ration care. The state’s new single day record for deaths is equivalent to one death every three minutes, according to LA Times data, which shows more than half of the fatalities are in LA.
The crisis is only expected to get worse as holiday travel and celebrations for Christmas and New Year’s Eve further spread the virus and crush the hospital system in the coming weeks. The state has reported more than 5,300 Covid deaths this month, exceeding the monthly record of 3,800 fatalities in August.
Been thinking about this seems to me the number of trials is now bordering on excessive considering all the safety data that already exist. Could there be a possibility
to speed things up they could run the US home trial without the placebo arm. It seems pretty obvious to me the slow take up seen in the UK is strongly influenced by the thought of not receiving the treatment. Let's say late January home trial UK finished, interim readout on P3, we already have P2 plus all the safety data from COPD other global interferon trials what do the more knowledgeable think. It's ok if I'm talking out my ars--e just tell me I can take it
