The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with London Stock Exchange Group's Chris Mayo has just been released. Listen here.
I'm a ludight(ish). The older I get the less interested in tech I become. I shall hand over to the youth. Take it away strangy.
@mr_tidal I will try and find it all tonight. I'm fresh out of bed. All I did was used Google whilst on my phone. Never tried looking back through Google searches not even sure if you/ or I can. Will get back to you on it. I know one was a 3 page pdf memo from NWA concerning USK and the other was avra there lengthy memo from the Welsh government.

From what I have been reading this very boring night shift is that the Welsh government did not reject the planning permission. SAE pulled the plug at national level. So am I right in assuming that this is still an avenue that can be pursued. Also the NWA state in this memorandum that USK does play a critical part in the national interest of energy security. That's what I'm getting this far with my investigation and if this is so I think it's realistic that SAE could be holding a little gold mine which may possibly play a huge role in SAE's needs to develop other net zero projects. Still it has gone 2am.
Can usk still operate as a coal burning power station did anybody know? It would be ironic if coal gave SAE the money to develope the energy systems to finally out the nail in the coffin for carbon though wouldn't it. I think it's a relatively small price to pay as a temporary measure of course. The transition to net zero was always going to be a bumpy road but I do think it is definitely under consideration. For all Gupta's flaws I think he could see this coming which is why they haven't fully decommissioned the site.
Does anyone think the refusal concerning USK was a political decision taken higher than local level and"state" (for want of a better word to describe a country in its own right) because of what the national Grid have announced today and what's going on in today's political climate?
The turbines were always ment to be called in for maintenance and assessment. They will be again I am sure. It was never just about the money, it was gaining the knowledge to improve design etc. Which they have done successfully with the new upgrades. Cost cutting on installations. With more to come I'm pretty positive You do not become world leaders by selling plastic rubbish cheap. Quality is king and this company knows and understands that imho. R&D, R&D, and more R&D is exactly what I've expected and what I've got. With positive results.
Strong buy/Hold imho.
I'm intrigued on the final sentence. Is the company saying that it may take another coal power fire station and attempt to achieve what the Welsh didn't allow in next year? No wonder Liz Truss wants rid of red tape and restrictions. So I guess pros and cons to labour and conservatives.
This get the markets working was always going to be a sharp shock. The Tories are daring to make moves that are needed. The one world organisations don't like the fact that national government is trying to regain some control back from those that have had it for the last few decades. Queue the MSM and all other left loving idealists making every move they can to keep hold of the power. At the moment MSM and co are big daddy painting national government as giant haystacks. Boooo the baddy.
FFS. Still on about BREXIT here I see. Get a fk in grip of yourselves.
I haven't nipped in for ages and I won't be in for sometime until you all grow the fk up. It's like typing to kids and I ain't no Sir Jimmy. Probably the greatest lefty liberal EU loving gentleman there ever was.
This company was@30 with less income than it has now @1.75. they own more assets now than they had back in the day. What this company needs is the players to stop playing and get serious with thier Holdings. I suspect quite a few day traders actually comment here quite frequently under various guises. Anyhow. Back to monitoring and judging in the background for me. Strong but and hold.
It's the labour conference in Liverpool.
Sorry tiny keyboard thing phone no glasses or coffee as yet. You get the jist though.
Watching sky news this morning, does anyone know if SAE are represented at the conference? There are about of hydrogen, wind and solar stalls I notice but did not notice a tidal stall.
To they're advantage I should of added. Around 4 or 5 positive RNS since USK and the SP has not budged 1 iotah. Do not sell. Buy more and nake then sweat imho. They just want them on the cheap.
I totally disagree. This was not already priced in. That's just a term the MMs use imho.
If ever you needed proof that this is being held back then here it is.
Today it seems we are allowed to be patriotic. Other days and issues the phrase "right wing" is thrown at you. It's a funny old world.
Goodnight and God bless your majesty.
You say usk pellets. I was under the impression that the pellets and all its rights belong to a company out side of SAE with whom SAE agreed " to work together" with so not even a contractual obligation tied in with the deal. So I would assume if your saying your looking for the pellets to be pushed before a rise in the SP I wouldn't if I were you. This is being held back we've had a few positives no movements. Just hold out until the mn's stop playing the strategy game. Imho. Atb
While I would agree the time frame is slightly optimistically flawed. The SP it self is most definitely achievable in the not so distant future. There is no doubt in my mind the MMs are holding this back. I wouldn't want to be out when they let it go.
