My query is why would a major player just stop at the farmout when a takeover could prove more fruitful (especially with the current reserves of PTR)? Perhaps the debt levels at PTR... If the farmout happens this share will spike significantly to circa 9p a share and longer term as the farmout gives the company a better and more stable footing the share will go through a few stages of upswinging. My bet longer term would be closer to the 20's (in terms of pence per share) within 24months and upwards from there. Good to get in on the ground floor for anyone interested....
I second that...up she goes ! Interestingly the re-financing is now taking a back seat in the operations updates and looks to be a number of months away from completion (based on the fact that the farmout is to be concluded in Q1). I would also be interested to see the specifics of the farmout to determine whether this is "value-adding" for the company. Still, the update is positive and most welcome ! GLA !
How bloody ironic is that...we ask for Christmas presents and literally get them..... If this is a partnership (in the true legal sense) it may be difficult to track down.
If its a significant player it may add some serious weight and financial backbone to this share....here's hoping ! GLA!
Could be the legals- such things can take an age....also given the state of the companies finances (Re:debt levels) PTR is probably going to end up paying a premium rate (additional bps) to secure financing. My personal view is that the finance is happening the only questions I have is at what cost to the company and whether this is a long term effective solution..... time will tell !
Fully agree, I had earmarked Friday COB as a deadline for some news. I'm taking my hard earned shekels elsewhere to make a few quid...GLA !
I may be approaching middle age faster than one would wish but as the management of PTR do not seem to be paying a blind bit of notice to shareholder sentiment and requests for regular status updates I have decided to write to Santa.... (probably have about the same chance I reckon).....please insert your wish list below.... Dear Santa.... we the shareholders of PTR have been very good this year and have been beyond patient. For Christmas we would like......
Have to agree- somethings up here. Finally some movement.... GLA !
Its not exactly 1% of my portfolio either but I'll make a tidy amount should something substantial be announced. If you're in deep then you also stand to make a lot.... so hopefully it all works out for you. We could be dining in style by Chrimbo yet......or is it too early to mention the "C" word ??? :-)
My own personal view is that this is a "sideline" investment for many people- the 1% of their portfolio that may spike. Why people wont invest in this will give you a multiple range of answers but my reasons for being cautious are; - Even IF a refinance deal is announced the future viability is dependent on the quality of that refinance deal against the proposed business model ie Is it temporary bridging or is it strong financial support; - The cost of that finance deal; - The burn rate- as such operations tend to be expensive $650k per month at last reckoning for this puppy ! - historical performance of the management team (any follower of Mr Buffett will tell you that this is a critical factor to consider) Im in because I think a basic refinance could bring this share to 6/7c, a strong refinance deal ensuring future sustainability and coupled with a farm out and proven reserves could send this one into orbit..... IF delivered !
Agree- however this could prove a more fruitful investment than banks IF re-financing or farm out is sorted/announced. Picking up on bjp1's point- I expect positive news on refinance very soon. Otherwise why would they state (a) that there was such a solution close to being delivered and (b) that this was only a few weeks away? If neither are delivered/ announced its indirectly a commentary on the strength of management in this vehicle- overpromising and underdelivering has not served this share well in the past......Im in anyway....
