At 0.5 this was a disaster. no point dressing it up as if it was an obviously £2.50 target then. so a couple of people chanced it... great news but if the market, for the main paints it as a risky bet at 0.5 then it is.
with what it was then, and with a totally disastrous cln (so much for the BoD caring about the retailers!) it was a cointoss that it'd end up in the dumpster, with what it had on the books then.
what is telling is that, over 3 years it's still priced the same. i'm very interested to see exactly what this placing was for as, as with the earlier one, there was no real understanding of what it was used for, insofar as the value of the assets bought.
frankly, also surprised BoD didn't participate in the placing themselves, seeing as it would have actually averaged down their holdings.
i just wonder how quickly the news will come as to why the harsh price was exacted... all this talk f a bargain buy that forced their hand for a quick placing still needs to be proven.
i won't be surprised now to see the sp wobble down below the placing price. what's amazing is all the confidence that this was going to bounce right back up to the 3s and here we are, at the placing price, as near as...
and so much for generating so much revenue that they had no need for a placing... does cast a shadow, whatever one's belief in the state of their revenue. and july is a long, long way to get confirmation from an interim.
