The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
What i meant to say his purchase coincided with a bottom in the gold sector. Gold gained 25% in a month from the 16th of march 2020. GDX gained 200% within 5 months of March 2020. If the sector had remained in the doldrums, Gervaise's purchase would not have been profitable so quickly I don't think. Anyway, that's by the by.
Hi Impecunious,
Great shout with ggp in 2020. Not to be finicky but Gervaise bought £55k worth of stock on the 16th of March 2020. By a stroke of luck that was the exact same day when the gdx and gold bottomed!
Great timing by gervaise.
impercunious, brad will be tested as a ceo once they get anza back. the shackles will be removed so im prepared to give him year. shouldn't be too much hard work with a rising gold price and the bull market coming back.
i note ggp dropped 60% over a month during the covid crash. when the sector is in the ****ter i don't think there is much anyone can do. wish i'd bought some ggp in march 2020 :)
Someone has decided to liquidate their holdings over the last two days, about 1.1m shares. I suspect it’s one seller. Fair play to them. It takes balls to sell at a loss.
I’ve made similar mistakes in the past. Bought a stock, watched it drift down, unable to psychologically sell at a loss. The result: been stuck for several years.
If you don’t have faith or trust in the company , the best thing is to sell.
Yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying seingred. Obviously it didn’t work. Why did they buy after such an awful rns? Brad bought £8k worth. No one wants to lose money do they?
Jack, there were quite a few 100k sells hence why the share price dropped.
Drat, I think bhargav sold before me lol.
LSE could do with an edit facility. When you're typing fast, its easy to make spelling mistakes.
Brad is looking to drill Pepas in May. 4th of May is the one year anniversary of C&M so it s a good time to restart exploration :)
Looking at the RNS's last year, Anza went into care on maintenance on the 4th of May and the directors bought some stock on the 9th of May at 5p. Odd time to buy after such a bad piece of news. The share continued to drift down to 2p over the following months.
Perhaps those buys were an attempt by directors to hold the share price at around 5p but the market had other plans. The next Anza news will be pretty major news like the C&M RNS.
Will any subsequent director buys post Columbia RNS put a floor under the share price? We'll have to wait and see.
Dr, $3k in 5 years years is quite conservative. I’m looking for $10,000 by the end of the decade. Jim Puplava thinks so. I recall his 2010 call that stocks are in a new secular bull market. I thought that was bull lol considering the Lehman crash. He’s a canny dude.

I'll probably get a lot of criticism but I think Orosur with 100% ownership of the Anza project is one of the better junior explorers on AIM.
It is still a potential 2-5m oz project. Nothing has changed in that regard.
Lol, meant to say 150m at 3g p/t
*drill
Pepas is rough terrain so drilling will be expensive. $100k per hole? Just guessing. They need to hit gold straight away which they should given they had 150g p/t with the first hole. The subsequent holes were duds so they know where not to drill
Fingers crossed they still in the right direction
ST, the mention of drilling in May was a welcome surprise and not something I was expecting. Agree though, to see that in an RNS would be more reassuring.
I think we're at the nadir in terms of sentiment and share price. I may contemplate adding more in the next few weeks.
ST, I guess the tweet is a news filler and to keep shareholders in the loop. The Anza rns may not drop until mid April which is a month away. Personally, I think they should tweet more.
Fair comment seingred. I’d be disappointed if directors did not buy after the anza clawback rns.
As regards to that tweet. So they’ll be drilling in May? Sounds positive
I said in one of earlier posts that part payment in shares for directors would have instilled some confidence. But we are where we are so I won’t be looking back but forward.
Gold and miners/explorers are in the foothills of a multi year bull market. So there is everything to play for.
Brad and Louie are on about £150k a year? Chicken has probably has the exact figure. No matter who’s the director, they’ll still need to be paid and no options were exercised by directors as far as I’m aware
Nookie, I bet others here wished they'd sold at 10p, including me ;)
