I have an insight through my job - in to the Diagnostic Imaging world - in private medicine (not a radiologist but work with them as a clinician).
Many companies and cash moved in to MRI when it became more the norm - to the point they built medical facilities around a revenue model from just the scanning profits - ie build a swish medical centre - give the consultants free room and board as long as they sent the patient In-House for imaging - thenmake huge profits from the imagng.
Eg £700 to scan one body part.
That was a few years back.
The clever money has now moved to Telemedicine and here then lies the opportunity for AI enhanced imaging interpretation / tech.
It will be huge
Takes a medic 5 years (150000 GBP) to train as a Doc (UK) - then I think another 2 years before allowed to even interpret an X Ray as a certified Radiologist.. let alone an MR scan !
Humans cannot keep up at the rate of progression in AI - particularly in this field IMO
