SimplyWall.st has the discount to future cash flow at £1.03... this is based on 5 year projections. So all going well after the PPI deadline, and Brexit is quantified... somewhere in the next 5 years £1.03 should be seen... provided there;s not an almighty market crash, or ww3 etc etc lol

Market cap is the companies current valuation. A lot of people look at share price as say for example "Oh look it's only 62p that must be cheap"... means nothing.

The market cap is about 43.75 Billion today with a price of 62p (roughly)... in August 2007 Lloyds TSB Group had a market cap of 30.6 Billion with a share price of 362p

So in 2007 it had a far higher share price, with a far lower market cap. So when working out if a company is cheap or not, best to find out what it's actual fair valuation is, because share price means nothing.

If it's fair valuation is a lot higher than the current market cap, then the share price is likely to grow.

Oh I hate both the parties. I hate Labour more. But I think my fellow countrymen and women are too scared to vote something different due to the first past the post system.

I want Labour to get in so that the electorate is sickened by both the Conservatives and Labour so much that they vote in a strong right wing party to deal with all the nonsense. I think that's what it will take to get the British people to grow a pair of balls as they did in Austria, Hungary, Poland, Italy, Slovenia, Estonia and Czech Republic already.

The price means nothing. The market cap is more important.

The Tory's have no principal though, they will get rid of Treason May and they'll also campaign on a second referendum. If it's so obvious they will lose due to Labour doing it.

I don't normally agree with you, but I'm not one for burying my head in the sand. That makes complete sense. This will sicken the British electorate so much we will finally vote in a government with balls in 2027.

We'll need to see some pain to get the gain, but it's worth it. If a general election is called, and Labour back a second referendum... they will 100% win. And then the Remainers who tend to be higher income people will be utterly sickened by what Corbyn does.

He wants to tax people on more than £80k more than everyone else... it's in the Labour Manifesto, he wants to nationalise the railways, throw money at the NHS and Police... Proper Marxism. It will sink the country, mark my words.

And a massive amount of people will be looking to vote neither Labour nor Tory by 2027.

To summarise it, a couple of violent Islamists kept children in squalid conditions, starved them and trained them to shoot up schools. The authorities knew about the conditions at the place for months before they raided them... probably too scared to be called racist they did nothing.

Until someone with a conscience caring about the children more than their own job did something. Bit like Rotherham, but potentially worse.

Honestly... I would actually like that to happen. And no I've not suddenly changed my mind. That would 100% ensure mass rejection of both the Conservatives and Labour at the 2027 general election, it would bring in a strong right wing party, that would take us out of the EU anyway and deal with the immigrant problem, both in numbers and culturally.

My point is... if there's a sudden demand for shares due to the buy back, demand that isn't normally there... the algorithms spot that and might sell when otherwise they wouldn't have. That's the variable you're not taking into account.

Another case of the authorities doing nothing for fear of being called racist no doubt...

On the LBC radio station earlier, they were speculating that Boris Johnson is sensing a leadership challenge within the next few months, and made his Burka comment based on that. I used to like him, now I just think he's the same as the majority of politicians, out for themselves.

If he really did have a problem with the symbolisation the Burka makes (not wanting to integrate) the real courage would have been saying he thinks it should be banned like France, Belguim, Austria, Denmark, The Netherlands and Bulgaria has already done (Denmark with clever wording).

But instead he doesn't want it banned, and just made a comment about how silly they look. That to me is a career politician trying to appeal to a wide range of people, rather than having a strong point showing he has principle. If he ends of up Tory leader he won't entice me back to the Conservatives with my vote.

I'll be voting for a party that leave no doubt what they think about Islam.

Agree on the Snow flakes and Boris not mincing his words somewhat. But where was his comments on this prior to resigning from his home secretary job? A man of strong principle would have made his opinions known well in advance.

You don't know that for a fact, because extra demand lifting the price can actually cause people to sell. If the demand had not been there they might not have sold. Albeit we're talking buttons as the whole lot is not bought in a single day.

Still better to have the cash that see it go into a stock that barely moves. They could have easily announced a special dividend for long suffering shareholders.

Exactly and the majority of people are now starting to see these so called lefty's for what they are. Free speech is completely fine as long as they agree with you, when they don't they try their best to silence people.

Well it pays a better dividend than a banks saving account does. And unless the UK sinks into the ocean it will come good eventually.

Yeah but the stock price is so variable that no-one notices the buy back. But sure as sh*t they'd notice if 2.2% was in their trading account.

No-one has a clue.. from an investment perspective I guess (not know) the following...

1. Pays a decent dividend, but not the best.
2. It's being used as a giant ATM machine for PPI claims.
3. Until the deadline has passed for PPI claims and investors know what the liability is that will be one of the things holding the stock back.
4. The other thing holding the stock back is the uncertainty over the Brexit impact.

When both the PPI payout is quantified and any Brexit risk also quantified, the stock will rise. (Provided the entire market isn't taking a beating)

The buyback gets diluted in the day to day transactions. It would have been better just to put the money in shareholders pockets, that way you would know without a doubt how much you had received.
