There may be others further back (as in weeks/months) but the most recent gap up has now been filled it was from 308.70p

Two gap downs not filled. One at 333p and one at 311.85p so at some point there will be some significant short covering.

Still got my short open at the moment, got about 35 pips on it. Or about 10.3% of the entry at 338.21

Well the 2 hour is heavily oversold. So it's on my radar for a long, but not yet... other technical's not lined up yet.

Confident that the economy is in decent shape and inflation is picking up, the ECB appears set to end its $2.6 trillion ($3 trillion) asset purchase scheme in December.

If the overall market wasn't tanking badly I'd have said it would probably test 305 to 308 ish first... but judging by the FTSE futures and the Dow close... I think 280's is likely now.

But these figures are not a prediction, when quoting numbers all I'm doing is seeing where it's found support/buyers in the past and quoting the figure because that's what traders often do. Those short will be thinking about taking profit at key support levels.

But with the market in general tanking... anything can happen. I don't trade with a figure in mind I open a Long/Short based on the Crossovers I use... then I determine whether to hold it longer or not by comparing various indicators. A stocks behaviour changes all the time, so the more I stare at the chart and various indicators the more chance I have of spotting a pattern to it's behaviour.

When I'm trading I just tune into what I see on the chart, and I ignore what everyone else is doing. I try to spot changes in trend before they fully develop and go long/short. Sometimes it's a small win, sometimes a small loss... sometimes it goes on a big run in either direction like now. Technical analysis (when used right) often spots sentiment before the full blown news is getting priced in.

I read a lot and connect the dots too, hence why the ISA's and Pensions have been in 100% cash for most of the year. I thought this was going to happen for various reasons I've mentioned before.

There's another gap up from 308.70p not filled... probably headed there over the coming hours.

There's two reasons MM's move prices down. 1. Sell off. 2. No demand

Either can cause it. If there's no demand, they drop the price until the demand comes back.

Hopefully the EU collapses sooner rather than later. Hate it with a passion.

Hopefully when it's ready for a long it shoots up due to the 333p gap, that would do nicely.

Up 20 points so far on this short. Not closing it yet.

haha exactly TFE, Islamic Corbyn wants to discuss it thoroughly with parliament. He has a secret weapon that freezes time, so when the Russian Nukes are mid flight, he just presses a big pause button to stop them moving.

Note on the FTSE I said short term, the most reliable chart for trading the FTSE is the daily, and it's not yet oversold with a buy signal... it's still downtrending medium term.

The FTSE chart is still giving early indications it wants to go up on a short term basis, but is still fighting with it's short term support level 7220

Glen's chart is not looking so good. It's currently testing the short term low of 321.10p if it fails this then it'll probably sell of more. Anyway, I don't like to guess figures... I'm just trading what I see. The Wave trend oscillator on Glen's 2 hour is still negative as is the 8/34 Crossover. So looks like that gap fill to 333p might take a while.

If we're faced with an insane opponent with Nuclear weapons who wants to use them on us. If we're all going yo die then he and his country are coming with us.

Not doing so mean he gets to live and continue his insanity in other countries. Nuclear weapons do work as a deterrent, because even if a countries leader is insane, there will be other people around him who are not.

There's been two world wars in 100 years, but no world war for 70 years, nukes were developed heavily after WW2.

Possibly billy, nothing's guaranteed. It's all guessing based on what we see.
