Statoil notoriously conservative re estimates/predictions, ie they err on the side of caution! We are under valued @ 25 mil recoverable so even without pie in the sky dreaming im betting revised figures in excess of 50 mil minimum 150/200 ( estimates still ) No issues re infrastructure no issues re funding and No issues gaining institutional backing when those institutions did their COMPULSORY due dil after the the presentation to raise funds!! !! So my only question is unless they have hit one of life's bumps in the road and desperately need a little cash what could possible possess a holder to sell ? boredom,impatience,short attention span ? what ever it is i feel the odd sell that pops up everyday will belong to someone who has a DOH! moment in a week or too or less! gla

One whiff of news, one very large trade ( an uncle of a Norwegian analyst :) ) and they will not be able to hold this anymore.The MM's in my view would rather this share leapfrogged the 2.20/2.30 range as i believe there are a few 10%-ers with sell orders there if it creeps up, which is why they are playing with the spread and restricting buys even when the bid "seems" to have risen into the high teens/low 20's!! They have shares bought in the low �2 range and obviously only want to buy the aforementioned 10%-ers share when we are safely in the 2.4/2.5 range. Now all this is speculation/observation/rumination obviously but it most certainly the way it looks and the way id want to play it were i a risk averse MM. As always dyor and wtfdik ,gla

The one where something is imminent!! had one a couple of weeks ago, hours before we had a good 20% rise so im obviously psychic :) Or it could just be that a few medium sized buyers are coming to the party and my guess is they are of a like mind with me that good news is very very close and to miss out for the sake of a few pence per share when you spending 40k is silly!! Lets be honest the re rate should the minimum recoverable increase significantly will be spectacular and you gotta be in it to win it ! gla

i will be happy to clear what i call the 10%-ers those who took the placing shares and are off loading @ a 10% profit. This is just my view of why we keep bouncing off the 2.20's but i am pretty confident that another small push on will lead to a decent surge in the price and if the news arrives and is as expected well anything is possible :)

nah shredder, i filtered for a reason! sadly until i sign in i can still see all posts but as im getting on a bit i made a conscious decision to filter certain posters for the simple reason that in order to be understood by certain individuals i would have to stoop so low my back may never let me get up again :) However i will say that i hold commercial property ,funds and divi shares in my sipp ( with a few jog ) i hold high margin/risk plays in my isa ( with a few jog) and i play rainbow chasing in a dealing account ( for fun) which occasionally pays out big time physiomics being a case in point !! in @ 4.5 out ( mostly ) @ 22 spiked a little after the speeding ticket offloaded those @ 11 all in all two days work 6k profit which i claim no insight/genius for just a gamble that came off spectacularly. I do promote share's i believe in but once i have sold, my moral compass precludes me from deramping for a second bite or to prevent my having to deal with a " selling too soon" scenario.So for anyone who actually give two hoots what i invest in there it is, for the rest who like myself care very little, if at all the investing/gambling activities of others i apologize for boring you.From now on i will log in before reading posts so i dont feel the need to respond to posters i have chosen to filter! again sorry to those ive bored. gla

Wow ferrotty, until you mention that oxythief graybird i had not noticed how quiet this board is since i discovered filter :) many thanx for reminding me. Filter is a very good description its synonyms are ..seep, percolate, leak, trickle, ooze, dribble, bleed, flow; many of which apply to the aforementioned, its ramblings and effect they have on the reader if left UN filtered. I would strongly recommend using the filter button :)

Always a good thing, the impatient,imprudent,nervous and those of an instant gratification personality type have sold, to be replaced by ( hopefully ) those who have done their due dil, are willing and able to wait and are not so over leveraged that a small tree shake or walk-down or whatever you wish to call it has then running for the hills.I am comfortable waiting for the news that statoil have been as conservative in their estimates as they are notorious for, that the lower end is much higher than expected and that statoil would like to buy jog's stake. If the offer is accepted or not is irrelevant, the fireworks those scenarios will set off are what im here for and will wait for. MORE ACTIVITY re sells and buys is what i want to see not less! It will take off when it takes off simple! I also intend a small slice to ride this train all the way from a Norwegian bank to mine with a tiny slice of $7 billion dollars or possibly more gla

With all due respect dickupham jog "appears" to have an intra day swing regularly which would for day trading/short term trading be a decent share if it were not for the fact that the bid/ask are fictitious. The price is walked up and then buys are available but not sells, the price is then walked down and sells are available but not buys! . Do you not see that if the actaul prices were available then either the share would flatline and not be of any interest to day traders/short term traders OR it would develop a healthy churn of shares albeit on a small scale because as you say the samll % in pi hands.Just a view

Your opinion re jog shares is your prerogative as is mine. My view is that day trading/short term trading is healthy it provides an exit strategy should an individual require it for whatever reason it gets sellers out and new buyers in but that's just my view. The issue i have with the way the MM's play with this share is simply this i have no problem if the price has a spread to allow MM's a margin but if a price is offered then it should be available OR the price should be adjusted to a point were the shares ARE actually available at the listed price. If that widens the spread,so be it ,just dont tell me i can buy/sell @ x and it be a total falsehood. Simple really.

If they have none to sell then the price rises until the nervous or impatient are tempted to sell !! thats market forces this is fraud raise the price and make a market thats what they are supposed to do not make sure they have sold em before they buy them !! sometimes we as investors get spiked thats the risk the MM'S make big money they need to earn it now and then by actually making a judgment call !!!

they are still dropping the price which should be indicative of a lack of demand but will not sell at the ask ???? really sorry to bang on but is this even legal ??

they lost control to the bots when it spiked to 2.65 ish just before the new share went live and they seem to be making sure that doesnt happen again!! refusing to sell some at 2.22 they were asking is beyond market making its creating a false representaiton of supply and demand which is the essence of a ponzi or boiler room gig !!
