The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
What disaster has befallen this share? A 32% reduction at one stage. An Investors Chronicle tip no less!!!
The caller said she was from Avanti or Avante. Said she was calling from USA. She asked me sell my shares and pledge them to her client. Phone number withheld. My first reaction is that it is a scam. She didn't ask for bank details. Just an email address so she can send info. I've such a paltry amount of shares, it wasn't even worth the call.
Yet another phone call last night asking me to sell my Petards shares. Caller said it was part of a hostile takeover. Sounds like a scam. However, no one calls about my other mickey mouse shares.
I've thought this share had "bottomed out" weeks, if not months ago. It just keeps on dropping, good dividend or not. Can't see me being tempted to buy into this again
Any idea why such minimal volumes of shares are being sold? Sellers are getting pennies for these shares.
Who are "Peel"?
Yip, you seem to know your stuff.
Can't remember the Swedish company. Hope you're correct about Abellio. That would mean that my speculation about First Group is wrong. There might be another reason there are some "heading for the exit today."
Yes we could speculate all day long. Suffice to say a British Company previously supplied by a British Company, will now be replaced by a Swedish Company whose suppliers come from............................................................China????
True, but the new franchise holder might have its own tried and trusted suppliers. I'm speculating as to why there are so many sellers today. I'm speculating in an area of speculation (stocks). I have no answers.
Yes I said PREVIOUSLY carried out work on the rolling stock. That in any upgrade of rolling stock, the new franchise holder would not use Petards, but another supplier. My reasoning being that Petards is a tried and trusted customer of First Group. Petards would be back to square one with a new franchise holder. Petards would not be in such a good position, in securing a contract with the new franchise holder (this is hard work).
Anything to do with First ScotRail losing the franchise for Scotland? Petards had previously carried out work refurbishing the carriages. The new franchise holder might have other firms in mind, in any upgrade of rolling stock.
Hasn't Petards / Screen been tipped by brokers, penny share guides, columnists etc for years. WHI just joins the list of previous experts, tipsters, comic singers and dancers.
The following is from another web site. So I'm not alone in having been contacted by phone offering to buy my Petards shares. REFERENCE MY PREVIOUS REPORT OF 07/02/2012. I HAVE NOW RECEIVED AN EMAIL WITH ATTACHMENT. (NOT MY EMAIL ADDRESS) ATTACHMENT FROM THIS COMPANY WHO WISH TO PURCHASE MY WORTHLESS SHARES IN SCREEN PLC / PETARDS PLC FOR £8 PER SHARE. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEIR CLIENT OWNS 41% OF THE COMPANY SHARES AND IS DISCREETLY OBTAINING 51%. THEY CONTINUED THAT THIS IS CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION AND MUST NOT BE RELEASED TO THIRD PARTIES. THE ATTACHMENT SHOWS COMPANY AS CARLSONGGROUP CONSULTANCY. TELEPHONE NUMBER 001 914 5172746. FAX NO: 001 914 4623270. EMAIL: Info&carlsonconsultancy.com Website: www.carlsonconsultancy.com ATTACHMENT SIGNED BY A MS. ALEXANDRA JAMES. ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT. SENT WITH ATTACHMENT WAS A "NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT FORM." COMPANY ADDRESS SHOWN AS 87C WEST 11TH STREET, NEW YORK. NY. 10001. FSA INFORMED.
Yes, Yes, and they didn't leave a number. They sent an email asking me to commit myself to selling shares to their client. I didn't open the email. I was careful ; )
I am asking a genuine question.
Once again I received a phone call asking me to sell my Petards shares. I have very few. The caller states that their client wants to take over Petards for it's technology. Any idea what this is about?
