Like the Diamond picture. Clean quality 1 ct diamond with many more to come on what seems to be a practice mine for when the real excitement starts at Thorny River.
Fully funded with no costs to BOD this is no throwaway comment. Many companies in the sector go bust from the CAPEX costs alone. James continues to do what he does best in finding the diamonds.
Pleased we were not all that far out with the throughput guess. 500 tons per day is good.

As I said yesterday expect a few juicy tweets over the next few days. Cannot get a juicer smile whilst standing in front of the diamond table.

Think James said they would run a month before giving details. But expect a couple of juicy tweets over the next few days.

Within the next ten trading days I am confident we will get the news that we are a diamond miner producing diamonds at a rate of around 50 ctht from the initial gravels at Marsfontain. Do not expect a 50 ct stone but this is the start of our new journey.
This is an exciting time and feel free to gloat on here when multiples of 1 p are achieved in our SP.

We have a recovery plant on site as seen in the mine picture with red circles on it.
Think this is what will be happening inside it.

Several different minerals fluoresce when exposed to ultraviolet light, X-rays or electron beams, among them diamonds. Sophisticated technology has been developed to take advantage of this fact. In an X-ray flow sorter, a thin stream of heavy mineral concentrate is fed into a unit where the diamonds and remaining ore are led on a conveyor belt. When exposed to X-rays, a diamond fluoresces and activates a photo-detector that triggers a jet of air that deflects the diamond into a collector box. This system is also completely enclosed or hands-off and provides significantly increased security as well as safety during the final recovery process.

X-ray sorting recovery has ~ 98% recovery factor on diamonds between 1mm and 25mm. However, it has proven to be less effective in recovering very large diamonds and some diamonds have surface coatings that prevent the diamonds from fluorescing in a way that the sorters can detect.

Think we already have a recovery plant on site.

Yesterday we saw the concentrate material being placed into secure storage awaiting the final diamond collection stage. All mining processes are similar to this. I’m sure people who have watched Gold Hunters can see the similarities.
Not long now. Remember 50 ctht was generated from the bulk sample of the gravels.

The bulk sample plant had a throughput of 400 tons per day . I think this is a good figure to start with when thinking about throughput.

I feel that the real journey has just started.
Having been in this share for many years the time now seems right. In the past, we have had the best diamond finder doing his thing and identifying targets, blows and kimberlite structures. He has taken us on a journey around the geology of South Africa and Botswana. We have had moments when a find has been made but the fickle market does not recognise this journey. Only when they see the sparklers in James's hand will they sit up and realise the potential this man brings with him.
I fully expect some indication of diamond finds at Marsfontain in the next few weeks. The news on Thorny River and the timetable for the start of mining there should follow.
I cannot believe that Ghagoo will slip into obscurity. For the price, it is a no-brainer.

Alluvial Diamonds this is what we are in the process of mining now.
Over thousands of years, the kimberlite pipe that reaches the Earth’s surface is eroded and weathered by wind, rain, rivers and streams.The eroded kimberlite bears rough diamonds, which are carried downstream. The first diamonds discovered in South Africa were from alluvial deposits.

Today, industrial alluvial mining involves building a large wall to collect the water in one area. Diamonds are often found in the gravel layer, which collects under layers of other material, such as mud, clay and underwater plant-life. Once the gravel is collected, it is hauled to the surface and prepared for processing.

The worked-out Marsfontein diamond mine was host to eluvial diamond deposits running at grades of 1,433 cpht.

Botswana Diamonds it had recovered 11 diamonds and “abundant” kimberlitic indicators from drill samples at its Thorny River project in South Africa’s Limpopo province.

Botswana Diamonds noted the gems recovered were all of “good colour and clarity,” and were of commercial quality of a type in high demand.

I remembered an expert on alluvial diamonds visiting the area with J C a couple of years ago. At the time I wondered what that was about. We now know and the journey has started. The dyke system is massive and under little overburden. It is akin to taking a bucket and spade and digging up the gravel. No crushing circuit needed so a main source of disappointment removed as diamonds will not be broken or crushed.
I know the pipes at TR are the main focus but the present focus should provide a nice little earner.
Surely not the most sensible time to offload your tickets. But I suppose we always have distressed sellers or impatient short term holders.
