Very impressive even without the big one Thorny River

Yet another piece of the jigsaw is being played today with this announcement. Botswana Diamonds expertise in the discovery business and Burgundys money and wherewithal to develop the discoveries.

APORT... Lucara Diamond Corp has agreed to buy African Diamonds (AFD) for $80.1 million in a deal that will allow both companies to benefit from the AK6 diamond deposit in Botswana.

According to the agreement, shareholders will get 0.80 of a Lucara share and 1 share in a new company, Botswana Exploration Plc, for every 1 share in African Diamonds. African Diamonds will own 26.6 percent of Lucara which will wholly own AK6. Lucara has a 60 percent stake in AK6 and a 75 percent stake in the Mothae Diamond Mine in Lesotho.

The important bit was the 0.8 of a Lucara share for each AFD share held.
Plus a share in the new BOD which was the new company formed from the remnants of AFD.

I was not a beneficiary but at the time wished I was.

I remember the large dividend payout to shareholders when African Diamonds was bought.
This could happen here but with all our other 1st class assets it would need to be something very special.

JC has just posted this comment on LinkedIn and Twitter. What a great statement to hear from our leader as we anticipate the next piece of the jigsaw being played.
To say I am excited is an understatement.
Up to 600,000 tons estimated in River and extension without the connecting vista which has just been proven.
60cpht giving us 360,000 ct at a minimum of $120 per ct $40M total even for just run of the mill stones.
Remember they are under minimal overburden so extraction will be cheap.
Also they have found coloured stones including orange and even blue 90% of stones found of gem quality.
Marsfontain produced many large stones which we all know sell at a massive premium and the mine produced a profit within the first week of mining.
For me this is just the start of harvesting the Thorny River prospect with the dykes and blows go on for over 20 KM and we have the rights over all this area. Scratching the surface has multiple meanings in this area.
JC cannot control his excitement and this excitement does not come easily in this sector. I join him in this feeling.
The next few month could be massive.

Great step and just shows how others are sniffing round. I wonder why?
I wonder if they are contemplating a bulk sampling of TR to help bring the discovery into the new diamond resource category. Think at the moment we are short of the carats by not many to book this milestone.

Good to see some nice buys coming through. The next news shouldn't be far away. Looking forward to the next drilling of the newly identified targets. This mine could just grow and grow as further blows are identified. It is also good to remember that the overburden is shallow and will mean easy and cheap mining. Exciting times ahead.

Itacon my thoughts exactly. This open cast mine could just keep growing. What a great time to get in or top up at this bargain price. We all need to remember Marsfontain and its proximity to TR and the interweaving dykes covering a vast area of real estate which Botswana Diamonds holds. Exciting times to be a holder and investor.

Bottom two again look like kimberlite.

Looks like they have hit some more kimberlite from James lates tweet. I have the pictures from the last drill and if I am not wrong then the bottom three piles on the new picture are kimberlite. Identical ore to the ones he posted at the last river drill.
