I pondered the analysis on leases for some time...well 3 minutes lol... ...how can an analyst be sure of lease payments in 2015?.... the logic given was v poor ...if you blog this sort of stuff, you should be held to account for it

that obviously EV takes account of includes all debt and any mezzanine finance...and probably shd account for pension liabilities and other non working capital liabilities ...but that doesn't affect REDT calcs too much

well, if you felt the cash was needed for working capital, then yes some the cash shd be ignored ...otherwise no...the EV is a measure of the non working capital employed in the business (the sum of the components of the capital structure)...the working capital comes with (is intrinsic to) the business and is separate ...only kinda related, some guys got Nobel prizes (Miller Mogdigliani) trying to show that value was independent of what components made up the capital structure...so the EV is a nice pure way of looking at value...it is the grizzly heart of the machine

oh...I reckon I'd be in the troll camp over on QPP...occasional voice of reason lol ..my motive here: well, I am interested in valuation...and irritated by clear oversight... ...so when someone posts what seems to be decent financial analysis and it is wrong, I feel inclined to point it out ..otherwise folk less experienced than me might think that the incorrect analysis was kosher ...so I am being a little paternalistic...perhaps even altruistic

I accept the overall tone of your post was constructive,,,and agree that traction in the US is key for xlm's rerating (shown in earnings growth...but perhaps could be clearer before then)

I see a highly rated company...but quite possibly fairly rated because of its market / competitive position ...I'd probably buy if it drifted down

no...well..vicar of dibley style no no no no no yes... a bit ...they are both recent IPOs ... both tech plays...both oversubscribed...both enjoyed an initial spurt...both fell back...SYQ fell through floor...XLM hasn't...and may not ...but the differences are marked...not least xlm has a decent wodge of dosh but isn't cheap..syq is dirt cheap but has some issues around cash management/position imv

BB etiquette is part of this "discourse analysis"? ...hmmm...well I post as I see it...vive la difference: that's my BB etiquette...group think is the enemy ...not usually rudely (or at least intentionally so)...but often quite direct...esp when (as in this case) a significant issue like minority interests was been overlooked.....(but clearly it is for each of us to decide the importance of any particular issue...).. ... just so the XLM BB doesn't take my helpful interruptions as specifically aimed here, today I have been making friends on TPET: no short interest...no interest in buying...just bemused by the "only way is up" type post... ....btw...and along those lines... alas the IPO price here is not necessarily a very secure floor ...just look over at poor young SYQ
