Not really sure what the market traders were expecting from Easyjet which justifies such a large drop today. I wouldn't like to see what would happen if Easyjet actually had some bad news. It looks like the trick with this share is to sell the day before they make an announcement, buy back after it has been made and watch them rise again, has happened on quite a lot with this share over the last 12 months.

Investors are a bit gloomy about the prospects for Easyjet. Analysts at Liberum have this to say: "We believe current trading conditions in the European short haul market remain tough. Even if recent airline failures result in capacity coming out of the market, which is by no means assured, capacity growth seem likely to continue to outstrip undisturbed demand growth, implying ongoing downward pressure on pricing." The report also notes that Easyjet is making heavy investments, which are weighing on the company's balance sheet and adding to debt.

O'learly also asks them to "take note f the recent bankruptcies of Air Berlin, Alitalia and Monarch", as well as the difficulties faced by another budget airline, Norwegian Air. i.e. the grass isn't always greener!
