The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I have fond memories of selling this one at 87p back in June last year. And oh how you told how wrong I was, and all the fabulous films that were coming out any time soon, and how I was trying to talk the price down. Good times.
It had support levels at £7.50 in December, and the next one was around £6 from October. There is no support levels below this, so if it loses £6.......
Ok Avocet So are they also going to give up on heating and lighting their home? How about paying council tax? Or all the other ways that huge inflation has destroyed their disposable income?
And no, I have no idea how much holidays cost I have zero interest in them. But I think you'll find the more they cost the less they will sell. All I can tell you is that a company that has lost a decades of profits in 2 years of trading is not a good investment, and especially in the current financial climate.
My god do their accounts look absolutely terrible. Eye watering loses in 2020 and 2021, to such a magnitude that they will have destroyed any profit made in the previous decade, maybe even more. Add to this my feeling they sell a product that is probably one of the first things people cut back on in the coming recession and cost of living crisis. I do not think we have seen the bottom here. Be careful.
This has hit my mental 10% rolling stop loss, so sold just now. Pretty sure what is going on with the banks is just the start.
I bet none of you took profit. Not a single one.
Nice. Are you getting your entry and exit levels from the chart?
Did anyone buy at 2p and sell at 6p? Or are you just riding them up and down with wishful thinking?
Ignoring "negative posters" already cost you 93% of your investment in the last 6 months.
AMC isn't down 40% as such. We got a new share from them called APE, 1:1 as like a dividend. So the amount AMC goes down is the amount APE starts at, in a sense.
APE is @ $6.66 and AMC is down $6.97. APES together strong guys, I don't expect you to know what that means though haha
"It is mid August and the school summer holidays.... probably not unusual.. they dont tend to release the big money earners then"
Not sure about that one. Bit of a captive audience lots of bored kids with nothing to do and Mums wanting something cheap to keep them happy. Though ticket prices have grown so high its not longer the case. I honestly think they priced themselves out of the market.
I thought to myself I should probably go to the cinema before they all are as dead as blockbuster. Not a single film is showing I would want to see. Prey is the best film I have seen lately, and Disney sent that straight to Disney Plus.
"I expect the banks will be in discussions over the weekend. Whether lending another £500 million and not getting any payments back till 2024-26 is better than losing all 5 billion currently owed."
@Ianharding Wow! someone who is actually using his brain. That is an interesting theory, that could have some merit!
If this goes bankrupt what does that do for AMC? hmmmm
Have you not heard of a dead cat bounce?
3 grand? Its only a few months heating bills.
Don't be down guys, I bet you enjoyed some nice films.
I wonder how much has been lost from pension funds here. Only the start though. If you own leisure shares or retail shares, sell now.
Me on the 5th of July "Also cost of living crisis means that people will be making spending cuts, and the cinema is an easy one to cut out. You are in unknown territory here on the chart, its already fallen below all support levels. Good luck if you are holding!"
Remember this one? Remember how you all scoffed?
Express elevator to hell.... going down..... :)
Savvy investors have this thing called a stop loss. It might be automatic , or it might just be a figure or a percentage in their mind. You do not ride something all the way to nothing, that is crazy.
