Another dull week no headway as still plenty of sellers about taking any offer over 108. Sage & Mfocus did nothing but ytd are (-18%) & (-50%) respectively. Techs in N.Y. had a good day rising 121 pts (+89) on week the Dow (-48) on wk. A 20 pts better start expected on Tuesday.

Currency movements helping us considerably from c.1.42+ to 1.358 about 5%+ in our favour.

That was another 'week that was' adding 22, boy we can't have too many of those, given the shellacking pis suffered in 2013 to the low in 16/17. On April 3 the stock was 169, one month later 237 that's 40% up and theres more....ytd +120%...there's more over 52wk a double bagging 214%. Whatever the reasons the mrkt has about turned on the stock from basket case to a blue sky miner. G's stellar performance has outstripped the best ftse stocks by a wide margin. NMC Health (+90%) Evraz (+80%) & Easy Jet (+50%). That most likely ranks us in the top 5-10 recognised best performers ytd. For sure there's a tiddler that no-one has heard of that has jumped from 0.05 to 2. I aint getting carried away as I'm sure no-one else is on this BB but why cry wolf when dem ducks are lining up nicely? As ever keep your eye on the prize if all your eggs are in one basket a year when diworsification has cost you a bundle! Here's the also rans: Ftse (-1.6%) & 250 (-1.5%). The big stocks...Mfocus (-59%) Centrica WPP and ITV all c. 33%+ down. Morning all.

1 month before Interims and 2 months before finals.....er usually! But lots of movement between the dates or as in some cases the closed period is well over 2 months before and after....(Gkp from memory) particularly if the bod are getting hassled by pis to buy stock (personal experience). Pointless really cos if the CFO don't know within 50p what the Co will make he's asleep on the job..oops he probably is!

Debt is a killer outside of the big ftse co which can leverage safely. G was in a very dodgy situation with tons of debt and not getting paid not that long ago. How things change!

Finely balanced at 230 for the FCS today....lower or higher? Mrkt closed Monday could be a nothing day so my guess 231- 236 wins (I like a wide spread!)....

Skidded 400 lower at one point on another frenzied trading day but closed up 5 by close. The Dow has closed 250 or more points lower on 15 occasions ytd. No wonder investors are wary!

Funny Ol' game the sub 230's might be back in the running as the leaders flag in sight of the line....

Combination of all the factors that have been plaguing mrkts this year. Volatility the geo stuff, you know the others only too well. The Q1 earnings season has been about the best in the last 25 years and a fat lot of good that has done. When mrkts ignore such bullish news from US companies (76%) have topped expectations investors run for the hills. Many think this bull mrkt is in the last throes of sustainable rises what with planned int rate hikes coming down the track, so are taking money off the table and looking for a safe, stress free near 3% t/bills.
