US inflation data due on Thursday is keeping investors wary after initially gaining 190 the Nikkei 225 is off 56. HK down (102) for the 4th straight session & SH off 18 after a spike of 40. In the Pan Pacific region only KL is in the black.

Im sure your right S-T. Well, whatever the fundamentals or sentiment the overall bias is buy/positive as far as PAT holders are concerned which is kinda what you would expect. Currently the mrkt disagrees with the consensus view. They could be right (don't buck the mrkt) but there are so many competing views for the jobbers to factor its no wonder they try to keep a level book for to do otherwise on the sell or buy side courts disaster if they call it wrong.

Hence the sp is balanced/valued by the jobbers book and nothing else and that's a constant worry for me, for if they are hugely short of stock they might get up to tricks to suppress the sp and Co value in the face of great results. You have seen stellar results get panned on the ridiculous "fell short of mrkt expectations" and if you believe that you'll believe anything!

I have railed against the jobbers/ machine systems for calculating value for years but cannot come up with a better idea to take the profit/loss motive out of a jobbers only reason to exist. Its worked after a fashion since the 1700s and then the upheaval of Big Bang and I doubt there will be any change in the next 100 years.

Now if we can catch the jobbers massively short and the resource results are stellar, well you never know....

Fair comment S-T. I post purely as an indication as I don't have L2. As I have said many times I don't trust the B v S
nos or the sp. I use it as pointer to pis sentiment only and read between the lines. We can send a man to the Moon but can't identify a trade as a buy/sell,
I wonder why?

Chunky selling continues just when you think.....it leads me to believe the free float is a great deal larger than most think.... of the order of at least 30m. As its a State Secret we will never know, all part of keeping the pesky pis in the dark!

Put my small Derby meet winnings into PAT first thing, 1410 @ 13•05 (shown as a sell).

Mixed in Asia this morning the 225 is up 108 on back of a broadly positive US jobs report but covid infections and extension of the State of Emergency to June 20th is capping advances. HK continues its 4 day slide down 223. Pan Pacifics are mostly flat Jakarta trades even after a 6% jump last week and Sydney is lower, trading near historic highs.

No worries Iawaccian I don't remember the occasion, us Seniors are blessed with failing memories! I certainly concur with your comments on the wealth of information posted by Prof, S-T, mickey1122 and others.
We need the mrkt to wake up to the fundamentals but they are holding the purse strings so to speak, so until MB releases the latest Kalaka data they can 'play' the sp to attract volume and volatility.
One has to think value will out in the end and the sp will reflect the resource data and hopefully a big lift in Gold to over $2000 will be the icing on the cake.

The future might be 'Golden' but looking at the sp you sure wouldn't think so! A 250,000 sell at 12•5 popped up late on and two earlier trades of 400,000 & 300,000 at 15 couldn't stop the slide to 13•10.

I thought on Friday we would see a bounce but it went the other way, tricky trying to forecast sp moves. Who knows what next week will bring and are we back to the last support level? Don't want to see this at 10!

The May non farm payroll added 599,000 jobs against a forecast (671,000). The unemployment rate dipped to 5•8%. Though the mrkt closed higher fewer stocks took part in the gains.

Morning all.

This has been an extraordinary week for holders of PAT stock if trading volume is anything to go by and totally out of proportion to the 'actual' news. The shares initially tanked on the share sale by ASM. Goodness me anyone would think PAT issued a profit warning such was the reaction to a 3% sell of the Co stock. We know AIM stocks can be 'flakey' but this bordered on the ridiculous.

However the shares steadied rarely moving outside of 13-15 today. At close the weeks volume hit c.7•1m boosted by a late reported sell of 160,096 at 12•5. Shares fell 12% this week. Bofp calcs shows sells outpacing buys by 3•7:1. Ytd PAT is running 60% down over 24 wks but 179% up over 52 wks a classic example of timing your entry as opposed to time in the mrkts.

Gold picked up after an early sell off and was trading at $1897 ($2 down on the wk) as London closed. The Bulls of Gold have yet to see an increase in the price this year but if the experts are right Gold is in for a good run of higher prices in Q3/4.

Back in the real-ish world trades now are c.1•4m today for a wks total of c.6,000,000 give or take. Shares are off c.1•5p +/- purely down to ASM dumping their stake on the mrkt. Hell, they were hardly committed longterm holders!

Whatever...

....Why the panic is anyone's guess, and that's fine allowing me to have a top up when I least expected it. If prev form is anything to go by the sp will finish down on my purchase price today and I will know my Batting average remains among the lower order. Unless there is a Lazarus like conversion before the Test Series closes you will find me in the Tavern Bar talking to anyone prepared to listen.

Earlier a poster intimated the free float to be scarce. I don't think so. In the absence of an up-to-date shareholding register (will never happen/ file under the Secrets Act of 1345) my guess is we have many millions floating about. If anyone has evidence to the contrary ring me.

Well, that's the first time in many a year I have been asked to do that. Ya can't teach an old dog to do new tricks

Over 1mill traded buys I•5 to every sell, shares still trending lower....go figure.

7370 takes me to 58050 more than I initially wanted but the price which I think is my lowest entry was too good to miss. Time will tell and likely a recent low until somebody decides to sell another couple of mill...
