Yes. The very same desperation heard on the 23rd of September and the 4th of October. This sounds like a good story pray continue.
@outofideas - the answer is YES THEY CAN afford to see the second biggest exhibitor in the USA getting taken out. The reasons are:
- as a chain it represents 10% of cinemas in the US
- if it goes bust other private buyers will buy cinemas after CINE folds
- there is still another 90% the studios can target
- there are other ways of watching movies apart from cinemas
- a stimulus package for the US and UK will arrive for many companies not just CINE
- any offer to CINE will be bad publicity for the President and the Prime Minister
- there is too much debt
I'm looking at the SP - it's doing what it usually does after a fall over a cliff, it recovers to where it wants to be. I wouldn't be comparing CINE with boohoo:

Nothing phases me. I've made money, I'm happy. I don't treat my employees badly. Happy as Larry.
You know what, I have seen so many Steves on this BB and not a single Larry.
@Steve and @Ian, I don't see the 10% shareholder as being positive for long term holders. I'm seeing more problems than positive.
Everyone loves a pick-and-mix - but the left over ones to be bought by the 8th October on the day you will be jobless. I was really disappointed about the management.
"The share is almost 100% up from 16p in a few days. If I was a long term investor, I wouldn't be able to contain my glee."
I couldn't agree more.
@Ian I don't agree - I have very little confidence in the negotiation skills of the CINE. This is the company created panic and caused losses to private investors and gave 45,000 workers notice of job loss through the media to provide a pawn against Governments. A poor display all round. pre-24th Sept CINE gave the impression that they had something up their sleeves - there was nothing there in the report to be positive about. Based on this, I will take the news from the media over the news I hear from CINE.
Right now the news says that FTI are getting involved - this is from SKY. I will assume it to be more reputable than CINE.
@Joey86 congratulations - firstly for the 10% and secondly for the first person who hasn't associated the 10% rise with shorters. Thank you.
@ShorterGuy I don't get it either. The price went up after a 37% drop. A 10% rise should surely help your balance, NO SIR the fixation is on shorters.
@PinkEye steve relax. If you want to feel happy, let me tell you some amazing things which aren't true:
- Share price is showing wrong on the Stock Exchange add a zero: £2.95 a share
- Tomorrow multiply by 10: £29.95
- FTI don't exist it's figment of other peoples imagination
- There's no debt that's just a few leases
- Bond is coming back this year
- The CINE cinemas are still open
- Pop corn nachos with sheez are free
- A covid cure is available and a vaccine is done, ready and rolled out
There you go, I fixed it.
@Stevek1972 if we keep just putting news to one side as just rumour and "comedy, not much substance", then we could have another 24/7 and 05/10 situation here where the share price takes a hit - it's great for me, but wouldn't be great for those who are long.
I agree with @shorterguy - "Why are you having trouble with what other people do? It's a free for all forum and everyone can express their views."
This is a forum for shorts and longs - it seems that the longs are having trouble with what other people do. I've shorted and I made it very clear. Many of the longs on CINE are shorting elsewhere - Parsley2 is a prime example.
@mrzeroh, you should direct your questions elsewhere.
"What sector were companies in?"
@Saihaj - As one idiot here said "tongue in check" it's in CINE.
When I want you knocking on my doors, I will let you know.
@mrzeroh I am not shorterguy - if you think we are the same person, then that is fine. There is NO negativity apart from the truth in the news. Read you don't agree that it is negative, look at the share price it screams NEGATIVE. The reputable businesses new shouts NEGATIVE. The former workers in CINE, many who have left this board - it's all NEGATIVE.
If anything, it is me who should be asking about mindsets - how do you paint this as positive news?
@mrzeroh the comments on here are not my own opinion only - I share news about CINE. It is NOT positive out there. Have a search - CINE on the whole has very negative news. We can sugar coat this all we want, but it won't make it more palatable. As far as I am concerned the problems with this share price are as stated, down by 40% - if investors on this board feel that an 10% rise after a massive sky dive is positive, then be my guest.
I've already taken profit - and am very happy with it thank you. 80% (Eight Zero) of this board was filled with drivel, prior to the news release on the 24th Sept. and also pre-opening Oct 4th. Do you know what the result was?
I've adapted this just for you @Steve, because I know you have a sneak peak:
I joined in around the 50p, it is now more than 40% down. What are the reasons for this:
- CINE didn't have an amazing H1
- Bond bailed out
- ALL the cinemas have been marked as shut
- Debt increased beyond expectation
These are the reasons why the share price has gone down so much. It's not me shorting it. It has no impact on the SP. However, there are plenty here who have shorted other stock and are making out that the problem is with the shorters - this is just nonsense.

@parsley2 it was a quote from elsewhere... if you understood what that meant you wouldn't be laughing along with your alter ego steve. LOL
@mrzeroh if you want an echo chamber this isn't the place for you.
