I think they will be testing with COPD trial people that have been infected with COVID. I think the CEO mentioned something about that. Whether they keep them in hospital, I have no idea. Then again maybe they changed their minds. Guess work really, but they do have a pool of COPD sufferers already in trials that have now been paused.

The idea behind this drug is to reduce unplanned hospital admissions from COPD sufferers with a viral infection. Very much something to be taken at home in that instance.

I think the inhaler will be used before you are critically ill. That’s the key difference imho.

She looks to work for Synairgen, but remember this is a double blind test do she won’t know who is getting SNG001 or the placebo. I’m pretty sure this is genuine however.

It’s you dude. Basically it worked but they were struggling to find unwell people to test it on. COPD and COVID will not face that problem. Also that deal was with AZN and was worth some 230mil before AZN pulled out due to worries about market size. DYOR.

Southampton uni hold the patent but SNG have exclusive license. Patent for the formulation was gained in 2009 in the US. It’s well protected, they are not idiots.

This is not just COPD and COVID related, this if it works with Covid, will be likely to work against any viral chest infection. From now until the end of time. Someone posted on here the other day that $3bil of Tamiflu is stock piled around the world. And that’s not a very good drug by all accounts.
