MMs make money from the spread, the middle man. I dare say they work orders and that may mean they try to keep a share in a given zone to complete that deal, but its a guess from me. It seems to happen from my observations. I don't go in for the rest of the flat earth stuff :-)
I got a theory. Obviously when volume is high you generally see a tight spread. Now over the last couple of days we have had high volume with an apparent wide spread. However the trades were well within the spread. So I think they put up a big spread to disguise what a trade actually was (a buy or a sell). The real midpoint was not actually the middle of the spread.
Trek, I do try to keep up with you. “String indicator” what is one of those please?
I’ve branched out a bit but I have always kept a good number of SNG. I’ve not posted that much because it was starting to feel like Groundhog Day in here. There’s only so much research you can take :-) I do look in though. Fortunately I put some more back in at about 1.50 and bought again at 1.65. All said and done though if I’d just left it all in SNG I’d be better off now, but that is so hard.
