It is interesting to see the Odey intervention, and I sense that this is not over yet.
A better offer than 5.5p would be welcome - but not nearly as much as a chance for PI’s to continue to have a stake in this project for the long term.
I ,too, am a man of principle, and cannot accept CF walking away with a cushy job and £7m in his back pocket. Not when he would willingly leave all the loyal local PI’s royally shafted. Screw ‘i’m.

IJWT - your question on whether HUR might bid for Spirit .
Might that explain the recent HUR share price fall, as it might involve a rights issue to raise the ££.
It will be interesting to see who does eventually buy Spirit, but I cannot see why HUR would want to take this step. We don’t know the detail of the arrangement between Spirit and HUR, and whether there were any “get out” clauses .
Another wild idea for Fri - what about Spark Exploration, who have the blocks adjacent to Lancaster, and also S. of BP’s Clare Field? Both blocks would be traversed by the gas pipeline that HUR would need to install to meet OGA development regulations.
Yep- I will take the hint, and get out more??.

Suspect the NO is heading to Scapa to shelter until Storm Dennis passes. WOS weather at this time of year makes offloading “liable to variation”.

Fred 16 - totally agree with your 10.45 posting, especially the final sentence. We the LTH are ‘collateral damage’ that no longer matter at all to CF and the BOD. I hope Karma visits these shysters sooner than later.

Long term- agree 100%. Voting NO. If CF held his hands up and offered his £7m of freebies to local charity, I might change my view on his character. But hey- this is a heartless selfish investment banker, so chance he will do anything other than look after No1.
The mine will get built, which is great for the local economy. Just a pity how he shafted the locals who bank rolled the early part of this story.

Cadell - Conn/Centrica are in a tricky position from several angles. They definitely want Spirit sold by Q3, 20, but you are right to question who would be the buyer.
I strongly suspect yesterday’s bad news about no LC tie back reflects potential Spirit buyers didn’t want to commit ££ to the HUR 2020 plans. Hence they call off. I think it was initiated by Centrica/Spirit rather than OGA or HUR.

Trek - another difficult day for the patient HUR LTHs.
But isn’t the real loser Spirit? They signed up to pay for the 3x 2019 drills in return for 50% of the returns. If LC gets P+A, then they have got £0 for their outlay.
With Centrica’s desire to sell Spirit in 2020, maybe prospective buyers were put off with any more capital outlay with HUR. That fact may have only recently been conveyed to HUR, and hence why the vessels engaged to do the LC tie back have been released.
HUR have the ££ resources to drill a 3rd Lancaster well, and sort out the WOSP. And the long term benefits from this will be 100% owned by HUR.
So whilst yesterday was painful, I agree with Malcy’s view that this could work out OK for HUR over the next 12 months.
Watch for the date of the next LAN tanker uplift to see if the 20k BOPD is being achieved.
Centrica cannot be happy with how the 2019 arrangement between Spirit and HUR has turned out. They are the big losers from yesterday.
I am well under water with the current SP, but have no intention of bailing out. Patience will bring its reward!

Alibi - Centrica have given guidance of selling Spirit by Q3, and given the problems within Br Gas, etc, I cannot see them having the time or motivation to encourage Spirit to bid for HUR.
But - whoever does buy Spirit may well open up a clearer interest in a farm-in or more with HUR going forward.

When you see how Allied Minds, Equals Gp, and De laRue are (NOT) performing for CA, and the urgent need to unwind Woodford positions, I strongly suspect that this could be a significant reason behind the current HUR SP malaise.
We need an update on the previous CA 5.03%. holding. I understand that at least their HUR buying average would still be positive.

Wonder if that involved the Israelites/ICL?
Having apparently been rebuffed, maybe they have some influence on Polygon’s actions?
