My only slight reservation as an LTH well under water, is that frac basement has been previously done in shallower, more benign waters. WOS conditions are breaking into new territory, so there is a lot hanging on Dr T’s evaluation. Hence the ‘Doubting Thomases’ postings.

After the BoD changes this week, which I tend to agree has the footprint of Kerogen all over it, I suspect that a strategy leading to a bid seems fairly likely. Kerogen want to cash out, but at the best ££ possible.
So - does anyone on the BB have a guesstimate of what Kerogen’s HUR shareholding is on their books at? Just think that might give a ball park figure of what they would sell out for.
I am a significant LTH who is currently well under water.

Marc65- the stock shot up from just over 100p to 110p at close on Fri, and was immediately corrected back to open at just over 100p today. Suspect someone on a keyboard had ‘fat fingers’. Even with today’s technology, the occasional human error prevails! Forget about that ‘spike’, and it had traded normally.

Well I have come to the party at AUGM at 100p. Didn’t have the courage to take advantage of the recent drop in fund price, but having had a severe kicking at SXX, I am slowly finding my way back with my 20/21 ISA allowance into what I hope will become an LTH, and worth tucking away in the bottom drawer.
Pity there is not more active posting on this BB.

I am in with HUR more deeply than I should have, but I did my research, and still believe in the success of the Bis. But any thoughts of a takeover are not an immediate prospect.
I need to stop checking the SP everyday, and see this as a long-term player.
I still believe in HUR, but millions of other investors in many different stocks are nursing serious losses from Covid and also the Oil Price War.

Yobbo - the critical thing with these small lawnmower/chain saw motors is that you either run the motor dry in late Autumn, or ( if fitted) switch the fuel line off with a little grass still to finish, as that will drain the carb. The ‘scum’ residue is partly due to the inclusion of ethanol in standard unleaded fuel - waxing blocks the carb filter, and hence problems starting in the following Spring. The other option is to use Super-unleaded 97 octane fuel, as that doesn’t usually contain Ethanol.
It can be overcome with a little ingenuity.

Adoubleuk- the last para in your 1105 post may have hit the nail on the head re Big Oil using their ‘influence’ with the OGA.

Hi Rosewall. I begin my ‘comeback’ tomorrow, when I take my paltry 5p/share cheque from SXX , and invest in my 20/21 ISA allowance. I fear that that sum of nearly £3k from the remaining rump of my SXX holding will take a lot longer than your time frame to recoup my losses.
But onwards, and upwards.

Hi Haggis Trap. Spark Energy is indeed an interesting neighbour. They have the neighbouring licences, but seem to be hawking around for someone to farm in and fund developments. If at some future point HUR did link into the WOS gas pipeline, then that would appear to cross Spirit’s blocks. So if they do progress to drilling, then some form or mutually beneficial partnership would indeed be possible. BUT - who will come up with the £££ for Spirit to make any progress at this time? How long before the OGA starts asking them to do something? More questions than answers, but worth tracking for sure.

If Daltry’s factual accuracy with figures are anything to go by, then his ambitions must also be zero.

Daltry- I accept BP has risen from 230p by some 46%, but HUR is up by over 34% from its low point. OK we can see a 12% difference, but to post that “HUR hasn’t really moved” speaks volumes about your motives. Go crawl back under that stone.

When you have an OPEX off $17/ barrel, then every +$1 in the price of oil = +$5 onto positive cash flow. Accumulates into a big difference. Patience!!!

The ramifications of this will be felt worldwide. I feel for anyone who gets laid off by this.
I am mulling over a new investment in the O+G sector once my 5.5p pittance arrives. Hurricane Energy is an interesting play. Their annual results are out tomorrow, and they are holding a CMD next week, so no moves until I digest all that.
But please DYOR, as I clearly have been guilty of recent “flaws” in my investment strategy.

Trinityman - oh how true! I start to recover from the angst of being a SXX LTH by thinking that my end of March cheque will buy a bit more alternative stock now that the FTSE has slumped.
And then I think about those 3 t*urds walking off with their “performance bonus shares” for a total failure. Think KARMA!
