I appreciate that gas prices have been a rather touchy topic here, but in his interview yesterday, Eric Nuttall said that although he is bullish on gas for next year, this year it could go to zero or even negative due to excess supply. What could this mean for i3E? Thanks for any comments.

Encouraging forecast from Deloitte on AECO gas price this year:

“Deloitte sees overall strength in North American natural gas markets with an average Henry Hub price of US$5.50/mmbtu an Alberta AECO price of C$5.05/mmbtu for 2023; last year they averaged US$6.40/mmbtu and C$5.31, respectively, over the entire year. There has been some softness in the past few weeks, but there is a lot more winter to get through and that is expected to prop up prices, coupling that with increased energy needs expected in the US through the summer.”

Have registered and asked for views on i3e, given the unique position i3e were in to buy up quality Canadian assets on the cheap with their access to the London financial markets.

Tony, many thanks for your reply. So unlike the last two NOI updates from i3e, worse case scenario is only a small miss. From their previous press releases they we’re on course to exceed the 24,000 barrels by year end, so hopefully this won’t be the case.

I believe you’ve previously been accurate in your estimate of I3E’s NOI prior to the company’s own financial update. I was wondering how close you think they’ll be to their previous forecast of USD 172 million. After what happened to the share price after their previous two reductions, given the weakness in recent commodity prices, I’m concerned what will happen if they miss this - no matter how good their drilling figures.

A concern with increasing the dividend is whether the company could maintain it if commodity prices drop. What do people think about having a guaranteed monthly dividend (as they currently pay) but also an additional monthly variable special dividend which would be based on the recent commodity prices? Having the option to vary this would ensure the company could maintain their base dividend (reassuring to investors) and cash for drilling.

Google and Fidelity now adjusted their price for I3 to +0.39% for the day. Were they originally showing the -10.54% based on the last trade of the day? How come this last trade was for only 19.10?
