BBC Any questions last night on about AI and its consequences. One of the panel was the ceo of Sinthesia AI, not public Co. I looked at their website…..they can make videos in any language using avatars….results in hours, not weeks. Not Engage territory but shows how quickly AI will move once the tech is in place.

I was extolling the virtues of this co. to family quite a few years back and now thank god the approvals from aviation have all been earned, giving a decent moat. The only problem now…unseen, all those years ago, seems to be the demand for tungsten which is shooting up while it’s availability is fairly rare… as you say an extra charge the customers will probably be willing to pay.

House building in a bear phase….interest rates a bit high, petroleum prices high which affects lots, buyers not buying(?). While these constraints last the building boom will be on hold.

If I remember correctly this co. was an Australian start-up which attracted Cambridge brains several years ago. They must have seen something there to inspire that interest. It’s just gone sideways since in value.

7 years of testing before approval for the helicopter parts shows why Hardide has been so long to get the approvals in the aerospace companies. Now those approvals have been earned quite a wide moat protects Hardide from competition.

At last…broken even. I was extolling the virtues of this co about 10 years ago and now after all the waiting to get those aero company approvals the momentum is picking up. From where I see this they have a splendid product which replaces chrome with a much harder surface. Getting those approvals gives them a moat of protection from competition.

I read or heard the attack on Houti shipping off Yemen has reduced overall shipping.

If they've got through all the hoops which the aviation industry maintains to ensure the highest quality in it's equipment ,that extends the size of the moat around Hardide. It's been a long frustrating wait but perhaps this is the time to jump in.

Has anyone got any info on some of Duke's private companies and the Trump policies? Dividend is great but can it be sustained?

It's a slow process(business)..... Ben B. about a year ago in summing up o&g investments by companies said they were turning a corner, so plexus should start to see more orders coming in. With their green credentials they were hoping for a variety of new work...it takes time.

Their tech sounds good and futuristic but it isn't taking off yet. Perhaps other companies have something better to offer. Anyone....insider? ......got any ideas? Kia like their virtual reality.

Further about chrome, it's a problem of workers becoming ill during processes, not the chrome itself.

Re chrome. Hardide does a hard surface coating in place of chrome which if my memory serves me has some restrictive opposition to it's production. Perhaps someone better informed cud enlighten us.

I've been saying much the same for over 10 years and still waiting. Good moat around them and outstanding tech. which stretches the life of hard worked products. But the shares sink lower and lower....one day(?) these must come good!!

Could be availability of shares.....any enlightened person out there with knowledge of who owns the majority of shares? I suppose the company website ought to have that info.

It's taken Hardide ages to get aerospace approval for coatings in the airborne machinery. That gives it a big moat. Patience does wear a bit thin after all these years but I do think Hardide is on the cusp of greater things....fingers crossed.

Great to see pictures of the machine in the shed undergoing overhaul. Solar panels had the same high costs of production but the FIT boosted investment by private investors so I hope the government doesn't pull the rug on helping the early stages of this sector......there's loads of sea space.

Glad someone gives some company news on here instead of the incessant insults of the Chairman...perhaps he is the dog's wotsits up in the NE.
