The idea is that the money stays within the business rather than paying these costs externally - take huge upfront capital but ultimately reduces costs going forward and is supplemented by external profits. They were trying to highlight today the benefits of this but didn't really quantify it. Effectively as ingenuity grows it actually reduced the cost to THG other businesses is my understanding.

Is THGs modus operandi to have these verticals - no different to buying the manufacturing capability for beauty etc. All this means is that they have a very complex organisation with multiple verticals.

The takeaway today however was that they feel the rewards should be reaped next year and in future. If they fail to deliver next year then their is very little excuse.

If they get it right it could be spectacular however with many moving parts its more prone to risk.

You must be rather naïve to not think every paper is influenced by its owners. Every single one has their own mandate from above.

There is obviously a range to impartiality and bias so far CityAM seems balanced has is avoiding sensationalism / negative rhetoric

0.8 p- you would expect as a minimum, we are only talking c. GBP3.3m - depending on the uptake of scrip this is a small outlay considering the cash position. Could be covered by interest alone.

In any case, better to be cautious at this stage. Not really in this for the dividends....

Feel like both the CEO and CFO have every incentive to pump this up and present it in the best possible fashion. Bob to leave with a turnaround rep. + a bump in his shares and the CFO to keep in Boo's good books. They were very cautious previously and Bob can now throw caution into the wind

I think the report is upbeat and anticipated improved profit over last year despite an increased debt, wage and diesel costs. They seem to be gaining market share across all the majority of markets.

Feels in a strong place and negative macro issues could only further drive demand being it a cheaper form of transport...

Be rather cruel if this was just a wind up by MM to waste City AM's and give them hope prior to admin. Sure he would get a great deal of schadenfreude

Personally I feel BOO have taken this course to ensure the Board accepts any offer presented for takeover.

I feel they want to sell this to the highest bidder ASAP and having the board on side could counteract the founders complaints that any offer price is too low.

Maybe they already have a buyer in the wings.....
