EUROPA METALS OBTAINS THE SEAL OF INNOVATIVE SMES BY THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND INNOVATION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF SPAIN.
In EMI we started with excellent news for the project after the holiday period. This is the distinction by the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Government of Spain of INNOVATIVE SMEs for the work of Europa Metals Iberia, SL, with effect until August 2025.
This official seal recognises the highest standards in innovation and distinguishes those companies that bet on R&D&I as a fundamental engine for the economic growth of the territory where they settle. Internally, it is an engine for the development of the extractive project that we developed in El Bierzo, northwest of Spain, providing:
Improvement of the innovative technical capabilities of the project.
Development of high-value R&D&I solutions.
Impulse in the field of our sector with high standards of competitiveness and best practises.
Results and know-how that can be consulted and contrasted as a reference for future extractive projects around the world.
It is a recognition by the Ministry of the technical excellence and responsibility of Europa Metals Iberia, S.L., the result of a constant and sustained commitment to innovation. This vision is fully aligned with the Institute of Business Competitiveness (ICE) of the Junta de Castilla y León and its R&D&I programs by CDTI, with the recognition of the Government of Spain under the auspices of the European Union.

Specifically, the award of this seal resulted from a novel research and development project applied to Proyecto Toral, which consists of a new technique for correcting deep borehole deviations. Under the supervision of the project manager, Luis J. Pérez, and his geology and engineering team, drilling has been designed exhaustively and accurately. A key and indispensable factor in contemporary mining.
Specifically, the implementation of innovative tools and software collects all possible parameters in real time during the execution of the surveys and the application of "big data" provides algorithms from the data from the polling records. The interpretation of the enormous amount of information and data makes it possible to predict the deviations of the drilling work that is being carried out and allows the trajectory of the drillings in real time.
