Just to let you guys know my shares became active today and I’ve managed to sell. It looks like the people with share certificates can get theirs sorted quicker as we are not waiting for the broker to sort it out. It just shows how crappy most of these brokers are. There ok when there’s no problem but throw a tiny issue in the way and they let us down. That’s my experience with them anyway.
Hope you guys get sorted soon as it’s been a very very long wait but at least we have something to show I suppose.
Had a message back from HL and they said I should be able to sell within 3-5 days once they have settled and tomorrow will be day 3. I’ll believe it when I see it tho especially if you’ve been told two weeks.
Wafer, HL are ok but but can’t say I’ve had no issues with them but don’t think any of the brokers are perfect. The app is easy to use and fees seem fairly low but I’ve not shopped about for a while so there is probably better out there. My gripes with them have been when there’s high volatility but it’s probably the same for most retail brokers.
I’ve not contacted HL but I’ll do it tomorrow. I did just try a dummy buy (I know it’s ooh) it said “part of your holding is yet to settle in your account as a result you can only sell 0.00 units of your total holding.
Maybe it’s going to take a few days to settle like when you sell you have to wait a few days before you can withdraw.
I held my shares in certificate form so I received new cgo share certificate last week in exchange for my cgh shares and I submitted a CREST form and now I can actually see my cgo shares in my HL account in the app. It shows the amount and what it’s worth but I can’t sell for some reason. Does it take a few days to process or are we getting shafted again? I’d like to sell before the whole market crashes in Autumn.
Finally got my share certificate through the post but now will have to complete a CREST transfer form and send it off to HL.
Nothing come through the post for me either. I’m assuming seen as I have certificate shares I’ll get same posted just in cgo hopefully at some point in the near future.
I think you could be spot on in this situation as they definitely seem to be taking the urine with their actions and surly they would of known this would get called out. Strategic move like you said seems very plausible just unfortunate the ones that will pay most are at the bottom of the food chain struggling to pay their bills and feed their families.
Not one employee will want to strike and after the unanimous Vote for industrial action the union asked for a meeting with BT to try and come to some sort of arrangement but they chose to completely ignore the CWU which in my eyes is very disrespectful to all employees and just shows what they truly think of them.
Totally agree HEAVY and if they keep going down this path at some point the people will say enough is enough and it will get nasty. Unfortunately like what’s happening in multiple countries across the world right now I can see major civil unrest happening in the not too distant future.
So the £1000 bonus after tax and national insurance etc worked out about £700 which didn’t increase their wage and wasn’t pensionable so nice as it was it didn’t go that far probably just enough to pay for 3 months energy bills. I’m not sure they got free shares last year but I’ll take your word for it but they definitely didn’t get them this year as mr Jansen took most of those giving himself 1.5 mil!
Nigeco you need to get in the real world! Saying people turning up to food banks in their bmw get a grip!! But if thinking that makes you feel better then you lie to yourself and believe that bs! Due to the central bankers inflation has gone crazy and not just the really poor are struggling but the workers who keep this country running are now unable to pay for basics. If you really think most people are thriftlessly spending right now your deluded normal people are really struggling just to get by.
The workers that kept the nations broadband on throughout the pandemic so lots of others could work from home just want a fair pay rise inline with inflation, and I don’t think that’s too much to ask for!
But your too worried about your investments to see that!!!
What your failing to mention is they didn’t get a pay rise the year before so that £1500 is basically over 2 years about 1.5% a year on average. When profits are 2 Billion and the ceo is getting 32% and his higher management above 25%. Do you think that’s fair???
Can’t believe you said this but it tells me a lot about you. “ You fail to say that investors went without a dividend through the pandemic of 18 months” I feel very sorry for you that your investments are not yielding the results you’d like!! I bet most workers that are using the food banks bc their wages are so poor feel your pain! Maybe have a bit of empathy for your fellow man and live a day in their shoes rather than selfishly worry that you’ve not made as much on your investments, workers are actually struggling out there on just the basics food/energy etc and you worry about divi’s!!
Not sure I agree that unions are trying to disrupt to entire country they just want fair pay rises for all the workers that have kept this country going over the last few years. Whilst most sat at home taking free money off the government or “working” from home on their zoom calls BT/Openreach engineers plus all the striking were working as normal.
BT made 2 billion in profit and instead of rewarding struggling workers the ceo decided to reward himself and his buddies all who I imagine have never struggled in their entire life. He gave himself a 32% pay rise to 3.2 mil a year well above his peers and also 1.5 million of free shares. Higher management also were rewarded with massive pay rises well above inflation. Oh and the massive dividend to shareholders i nearly forgot that one, but there’s no money apparently for workers.
Don’t believe the media or wherever you got the info about giving fair pay rises leads to more inflation that’s the rich people putting out that propaganda. Inflation is just a roundabout way of bleeding more money out of us like a secret tax. They printed more money this last few years than the entire history of fiat that’s why we have inflation it’s been created by the central bankers but let’s blame the workers who just want to feed their kids and heat their homes in winter. When the BOE says their putting interest rates up to tackle inflation they are laughing at us all behind the scenes as they know it doesn’t work it just causes more pain for the normal people. BT have set up some food banks in the workplace to help employees out as most are struggling to put food on the table. How about just pay them a fair wage in these times so they can buy their own food!

Just to let you guys know not much has progressed and not had any cgo certificate shares through the post yet. I hold certificate cgh shares so I’m assuming if I’ve read it correct that I should receive cgo shares through the post. Please someone correct me if I’m wrong.
Haha no probs RG33. It seems we are nearing the light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully we might actually get something out of all this mess.
RG33,
It’s me that’s used the Dropbox, it was the only way I could figure out how to upload a picture of my letter. Don’t think CGH have used this themselves they’ve just posted letters out as far as I’m aware.
This is the letter I received I’m assuming it’s the same one?
