The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
If folks are look at the endgame, the SP going up and down in the meantime is not particularly relevant (although is always nicer to have a higher SP). A question for me, is, what is current company telling us?
That is telling us that Power China - part of China's immense Belt and Road initiative - remains very interested in orking with GCM on ts project. Bearing in mind, there is no better mechanism/ vehicle for shifting things politically than China and its Belt and Road programmes. We know for a fact they have realised hundreds of projects around the world - projects others could not afford or would not touch; projects in politicial situations that seemed forever immovable but that have been shunted on and overcome.
China won't want to walkaway from 6, 000MWs, in country that owes them so much back in return (for all the investment that have poured in, to support the development of this 'risky' country).
Now is the time to be piling in :-)
Is cheap as chips because the downside is a bottom of 7.5p - while we at 12p now - and the upside is in the several pounds£££, with the JV agreements with Power China now having been extended 12months, to March 2022 (with both JV agreeemnts now brought under the same time line). It indicates they see this as having value, that it's worth purusing.
Cheap as chips now, even if you only looking for the trade.
A spate of buying now. The SP is poised. Once this begins to move from here, we will see a rapid re-rate. The JV Extension is almost certainly due to come back agreed by all parties (as per recent offical comms) - and I wonder if there will be a few more details, showing further progress over the last year :-)
From the recent RNS:
---------------
"The board of the Company is confident of agreeing such extension terms and a further announcement will be made once an extension is formally entered into. "
---------------
GCM wouldn't be allowed to say that by their new NOMAD (and a respectable NOMAD they are), if they weren't able to prove there was reasonable grounds on which to have that included in an RNS.
chunky buy and a good end to the weekly,
lets crack the 6pence nex week!!
Buyout is on the cards. China/ Belt and Road will have the politicial clout, and Powerchina are exactly who we should be working with.
Big news due soon, I believe, on the partnerships/ collaboration front.
Good luck folks!
Would China/Belt and Road, walk away from a project worth 6, 000MW?! The only one of its kind in Bangladesh?!
Looking forward to coming days, weeks and months, as we will be hearing of progress (signalled by recent board changes!).
Am not sure what the issue is regarding a valuation for GCM in the £££'s.
Back in the day, LTHs were looking forward to a £10 Party (£10 per share). Since then, yes, we grown shares in issue (now standing at 113million shares). But we now also have a proposal for 6, 000MW and are working with PowerChina towards a significant part of this.
Going by those shares in issue, £1 per sharewould equate to a valuation/ market cap of £113m. £2 per share, £226m etc.
The project is enromous. Giving up a chunk to PowerChina etc. would still leave us with that £3 per shares easily.
From march 2019:
"GCM Resources will be responsible for obtaining approvals, while PowerChina will conduct a feasibility study and work to incorporate the project into the One Belt, One Road Initiative in China. Both parties will work on obtaining financing. "

Important to remmber, that China's Belt and Road is a massive game-changing investment vehicle, the very biggest, realising countless projects , globally, that no one else could afford or would touch.
slow day but definitely feel its the calm befor the storm, holding up really well right now :)
Is good to know that scott & others are looking to buy. think there will be shortage of shares, in free float.
chunky buy just gone in, as I type. we will crack 6p for good today, i feel. long time coming but very welcome, still. Nows the time to get in i think & hold. Is all coming together for sure!
